The HTHS PTSO is sponsoring a Winter Formal Dance on Saturday, January 20th from 7 pm until 10 pm. This dance will be in the HTHS Cabaha Cafe (lunchroom) and is for HTHS students only. Tickets are available until noon tomorrow on GoFan at the link below:

HTHS risiing juniors and seniors are invited to apply for acceptance to the Academy of Craft Training. The Academy of Craft Training is a public/private partnership between the construction industry and the State of Alabama’s K-12 education system. Their mission is to recruit, educate and guide high school students for educational and employment opportunities in the construction industry.

Students are transported from HTHS to the AWTC facility in Birmingham 5 days a week and receive appropriate math and education requirements along with their training. The Academy is a simulated workplace environment that follows drug screening requirements and policies and procedures mirroring that of industry.

Trade training offered includes: HVAC, Welding, Building Construction, Interior/Exterior Finishes Electrical

Senior Cap and gown photos are scheduled for March 8th in the small gym. Students are out of school for an eLearning day. Seniors who come and take their cap and gown photo will be excused from eLearning assignments. This will take place alphabetically seniors with last names A- K will report between 8:30 and 10:30am to have their photo taken. Seniors with last names L-Z will have photos taken be taken 10:45 and 12:45. The Flyer attached gives information on what students should wear. Caps and gowns will be provided for the photos. There is no fee for having this photo taken.

Certified HTHS teachers will be offering an evening ACT Prep Class beginning Tuesday, January 16th. Classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays (8 class sessions) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm through February 8th. This class will prepare students for the February 10th administration of the ACT. The fee for the session is $300 and includes an ACT Prep book. Please click the link below to sign up for the class! Sign up deadline is January 22nd.
