EWRSD Weekly Update
January 10, 2025
January 10, 2025
At the December 9 Board of Education meeting, current Melvin H. Kreps Middle School Principal, Samantha Felicetta, was approved to serve as the next Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. Mrs. Felicetta will replace Dr. Erin Servillo, who retired from the EWRSD last month.
Mrs. Felicetta has been a member of the East Windsor Regional School District since 2009. Initially serving as an assistant principal, before transitioning to the role of principal in 2013. After providing effective building leadership within three of the district's six schools, Mrs. Felicetta is the appropriate choice to succeed Dr. Servillo as the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.
Mrs. Felicetta's anticipated transition to the role of Assistant Superintendent will create the need for the district to identify a qualified replacement to serve as the next Melvin H. Kreps Middle School Principal.
Walter C. Black Elementary School second-grade Kidcare students explored Scratch Jr during their coding club. Awesome job animating!
Ethel McKnight Elementary School had a Leader in Me Assembly facilitated by our school counselor, Mrs. Snyder. There were student leaders who greeted all who attended the assembly, and there were other students with important leadership roles during the assembly. Kudos to Mrs. Snyder! We love learning about healthy habits to become leaders!
The Hightstown High School Red Cross club made Valentine's Day crafts for the elderly.
One of Hightstown High School's Basketball team's favorite things to do each season is head over to Melvin H. Kreps Middle School and watch the boys' basketball team in action.

As a bonus, they help reduce flooding, improve water quality, and invite nature’s beauty right to your doorstep.
New to Native Gardening? No problem! Join us for our educational Zoom workshop to learn about how to care for your jugs, prep garden beds, and choose the perfect plants with expert guidance. Thursday, January 2, 7:00–8:30 p.m.
Make sure you RSVP in order to receive the Zoom link
Why is the event in the Winter? Most native plants need 30-90 cold nights to germinate, so after you sow your seeds you put them outside and let them do their thing (dip jugs into water as needed in the warm days of spring)
