The CPES BobChat

We are looking forward to the 5th Annual Bobcat Dash Fundraiser which will be Friday, October 25. This is our sole fundraiser sponsored by our PTO which will raise money for equipment for our kindergarten playground this year. This event is also the culminating activity for our Red Ribbon Week. Families are invited to come and cheer and run with their children. How can we work together to support this effort with our PTO? 1. Secure sponsorships. Businesses and families can become sponsors for the event. Sponsorships are at different levels and receive a variety of benefits. See the attached sponsorship forms for further information. All contributions are tax deductible because our PTO is a 501c3. Logos for sponsorships must be received by Friday, October 4 to appear on printed materials and shirts. 2. Secure pledges for our children running. Our students will receive pledge forms and families can contribute in this way as well. Students can receive prizes for the pledges they secure. More information will come home in October about this. 3. Volunteer to help and cheer. We will need lots of volunteers to assist with a project this big. Mrs. Berenice Huskins and Mrs. Lauren Barnes are coordinators for the event this year. We need volunteers to help mark shirts, distribute snacks, and set up/clean up for the event. Families are encouraged to come and support their children on October 25 as well. We will send a schedule in October for when grade levels will run that day. 1. Staff Appreciation on Friday--Thank you for your support and donations for our Staff Appreciation event on Friday. It was such an encouragement to our staff to have pizza and goodies to round out the week. We value all our staff and all of them make a difference in our children. Thank you for all you do. 2. Boys Running Club--Attention 4th and 5th grade boys who like to run! We will be starting our Fall Season for Running club on Oct. 7th. If you are interested in joining this fall please sign up through google link below. There will be a limited number of spots available. 3. COVID Information--We are seeing an uptick in COVID throughout the Rock Hill community and our schools. If your child is sick and has symptoms of COVID or flu, please follow the steps below:

1. Keep your child home from school
2. Call the school nurse at your child's school to report the illness
3. If you wish for your child to be tested, call a RH Schools testing location to schedule a time for testing

School Improvement Council--This group seeks to determine how Cherry Park Elementary can be the best school it can be. It is a sounding board and feedback group for the school and district. Members are elected for two year terms. Members of this year's Council include Celia Kerr, Ashley Petit, Latisha Givens, Scott Kennedy, Chelsea Eichorn, Jennifer Hutchinson and Matthew Query. Ex-Officio Members are Mr. Maness (Principal) and Mrs. Futrelle (Assistant Principal). Meetings are held at Cherry Park on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 PM. All parents are invited to attend.

Parent Teacher Organization--This group has three main goals: Raising funds for the school, appreciating the staff and securing volunteers as needed. The Cherry Park PTO is a 501c3 tax deductible organization. Meetings are held at Cherry Park on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 PM (right after the SIC meetings.) All parents are invited to attend. All financial records are distributed and updated at each month's meeting. Officers this year are Amanda Winters (President), Emmanuel Daniel (Vice-President), Celia Kerr (Secretary) and Shannon Martin/Caroline Stubbs (Co-Treasurers). We appreciate all of our sponsors (above) who contributed to our Bobcat Dash this year.
