Flu shots will be offered at sites throughout the District on a variety of dates over the next several weeks. Individuals on District insurance may receive the shots free of charge with proof of insurance. Those not on District insurance can request their insurance carrier be billed when scheduling. Please note, the links to sign up don't go live until 10 days before the clinic date, so there is a note attached when registration for each event opens.
English Learner Program is Now Multilingual Learner
We are excited to announce that our English Learner (EL) program is transitioning to a new name: Multilingual Learner (ML) program. This change reflects our commitment to recognizing and celebrating the diverse linguistic backgrounds of our students. Our teachers will now be referred to as ML teachers, highlighting the importance of supporting all students in their language development journey.
Please take a look at this infographic for more details on why this shift is important and how every teacher in our district plays a vital role in fostering language growth in our multilingual learners.
Equity and Inclusion Offers Multilingual Resources
Happy Fall! This week the Equity and Inclusion Department is sharing a resource created by our team of Multilingual Learner support teachers. Additionally, the E&I Department is starting to schedule PD in both building-based and virtual PD opportunities. These are optional, will have a focus on an instructional skill, and will leave time for collaboration or questions at the end.
Have a suggestion for a PD topic? Reach out to your Equity Champion or email Rachael Schley to share your thoughts! More information about Equity Champion meetings is coming for Caity Vajgrt, our Equity & Inclusion Coordinator. Share with your principal if you are interested in serving on your building equity champion team.

PBnJs Grant Deadline Extended to October 16
The application deadline for PBnJs Mental Health Fund grants have been extended to October 16.
If you or a colleague has an idea to address the mental health needs here at NJSD, fill out a PBnJs Application. It is a brief application process. All you need to do is know how your grant request would benefit our students or staff socially, emotionally, or behaviorally and how much it costs.
Just note that the PBnJs grant is for mental health needs. If your request is for something within the budget of your school, through Special Ed monies, or from your department and is only marginally related to mental health, we will not be able to approve the grant. Also, note that any requests for furniture, such as chairs, will need to be approved by Facilities, so please check with Angela Zanto in the facilities office before applying.
We have had grants supported that are over $10,000 and we have had grants supported for less than $100. If you are unsure if your grant fits the criteria, feel free to contact Dr. Mike at maltekruse@neenah.k12.wi.us. If you are interested in giving to the PBnJs fund, you may do so through the Oshkosh Community Foundation by clicking on the link here.
Thank you for all you do!!!
