Dance Performance

END OF THE YEAR PROMOTIONAL CEREMONIES
8TH GRADE PROMOTION
Our 8th Grade Promotion will take place Wednesday, June 5 at 1:30pm at the DCP Redford Campus. Refreshments will be served after the program.
KINDERGARTEN PROMOTION
Our Kindergarten Promotional Ceremony will take place on Wedensday, June 5 at 9am at the DCP Redford Campus. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
5TH GRADE CLAP OVER
👏👏👏
Grade 5 will have a Clap Over to Middle School event. This entails all of scholars grades K-7 aligning in the hallway and "clapping" the 5th graders "over" to the middle school wing. Once there, they will meet with the current middle school teachers for a brief introduction and brief overview of what they can expect. Parents will be invited to share in the festivities.
K-7 scholars should plan to make signs and banners to congratulate the 5th graders as they step into their new journey!
8TH GRADE BBQ
8th Graders will have their End of the Year BBQ on Monday, June 3 on the grounds of DCP Redford. More details to follow.
MORE FUN DAYS AHEAD
COLLEGE DAY AT DCP REDFORD
On Friday, May 17, staff and students are encouraged to celebrate College Day. Staff, wear your alma mater or your favorite college T-shirt, jersey or hoodie with jeans to promote advance learning.
SCHOOL CLOSURE MAY 24 - MAY 27
Remember that school will be closed on Friday, May 24 and Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. Thursday, May 23 will be Red, White and Blue Day. Everyone is encouraged to wear those combination of colors.
DCP-REDFORD FIELD DAY
There is work being done at this moment for a school-wide field day. More information to come. All staff and scholars will play a part.

Summer Advantage Transportation Request
Summer Advantage Classes are quickly approaching. Please click the link below to register for DCP-Redford's Transportation Service for our Summer Advantage Experience 23-24 School Year.
Trio Upward Bound Program
Are you interested in applying to the TRIO Upward Bound Program? Please see requirements below:
- You are currently in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade (Rising 9th (8th) graders may also apply.
- Your (biological) parents did not graduate from a four-year college or university, and/or, Your parents’ taxable income, for the prior year, is within federal guidelines.
- You plan to attend college immediately following high school graduation.
- You attend a Detroit Public Community District High School and/or live in the Detroit area.
Once Accepted:
- You can participate fully in both the Academic and Summer phases of the program until high school graduation.
- Probationary Period: 30 days of active participation in the Academic Phase and 10 days of active participation in the Summer Phase; you will be re-evaluated for full program participation
If you are eligible, please download or complete the Student Application. Follow up is required after the initial submissions of the application. Other information such as transcripts, test scores, current report card, one-page personal statement and parent’s income (previous year for 1040/1040A Federal Tax Form; current year for DHS, SSI, Unemployment and Child Support, etc.) are required for full acceptance.

Summer Youth Employment
Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT) is a citywide summer jobs program that trains and employs young adults between the ages of 14 and 24 for up to 120 hours. Youth participants must be permanent residents of the City of Detroit and be eligible to work in the United States. There are a broad range of jobs available to the participants. Examples of jobs include: community cleanups, event planning, accounting, retail and the Junior Police or Fire Cadets to name a few. Click the link below to apply.
