Principal Update 11/6
St. Stephen Mission Statement: As a ministry of the parish, St. Stephen Catholic School inspires academic excellence by the pursuit of Truth, formation of disciples of Jesus Christ, growth in virtue, and service with mercy.
A Time to Assemble, A Time to Celebrate
Dear St. Stephen Families,
Thank you for your patience as this notice comes out on Wednesday instead of its normal Tuesday date.
This past week we celebrated All Saints Day-- which was quite the treat. We played "When the Saints Go Marching In" upon entering the school building. Many students and staff dressed as their favorite Saint. Father John encouraged our students and families to "will" to be saints, per the instruction of St. Thomas Aquinas, during his homily. Let us continue to pray for the intercession of All Holy Men & Women. Linked below is a beautiful version of the Litany of the Saints in Latin (with English), which I encourage you to listen to with your family. It is a 15 minute meditation of beauty.
On a personal note, please pray for my younger brother Caleb who is getting married this coming weekend and pray for my family, who is traveling from around the country and converging to Michigan to celebrate the sacrament.
The first quarter of the academic year is in the books. There has been so much academic excellence to celebrate. We plan to continue that celebration at the first Pep Rally & Honors Assembly of the school year on Thursday November 7th at 11 AM in the gym. This is a half-day Noon dismissal due to conferences starting at 1 PM.
Sign ups for Conferences are linked here.
Another change for 2nd quarter is that gym classes will now be held on Wednesdays instead of Mondays starting Wednesday November 6th. This is due to a shift in our weekly Mass schedule.
Thank you for the quick turnaround on the FRL forms. The Water Filtration Grant is submitted and we are awaiting next steps.
Many blessings.
In Christ,
Bradley J. Stalder
Principal
