GISH School students and staff continue to display tremendous energy. Student Progress Reports were available as of TODAY (January 29). We are looking forward to a very energetic and productive second semester. Instruction has been difficult, and extremely successful at Gish School during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are very proud of the outstanding job that Gish staff are doing. We are equally proud of the efforts of Gish students, both in the Global Program as well as the Cogito Program.
Unfortunately, the most difficult adjustment to instruction during the Pandemic is the absence of extra-curricular activities, such as clubs and sports. Gish School has an outstanding tradition of numerous clubs (choirs, coding club, student leadership, dance, and numerous team sports and intramurals). Teachers and students alike are really missing these activities. We look forward to returning to normal schooling experiences, and we sincerely expect to be fully functional in September of 2021. In the mean time, teachers are looking forward to learning at the Teachers’ Convention (virtually, of course) on February 4th and 5th. We anticipate that students will appreciate another break, as there will be no school.
We will host our virtual Gish School Kindergarten Open House on Thursday, February 18, starting at 6:00pm. We will feature videos and a “Google Meeting” so that parents may interact live with administrators and teachers. There will definitely be an opportunity to ask questions! Both Global and Cogito Programs will be featured. We are very proud of the quality of instruction in both Programs. Kindergarten is a foundational year for valuable learning, and for setting a positive tone for many years to come.
GISH School continues to offer excellent English programs that are supplemented by many field trips and fun activities. We hope to attract many students for full-day classes, as well as morning and afternoon half-day programs in both Global and Cogito. Please remind friends and relatives (especially those who live in St. Albert) about the fantastic learning opportunities that exist at E. S. Gish School.
Gish School continues to be a very popular choice, and we are proud of the top-quality programs that we offer. We simply do not have enough space for all the families who want to join, so please register early! Priority continues to be offered to families who live in St. Albert. Next priority goes to families who already have siblings at Gish School. Of course, we are able to accept families from other jurisdictions (north Edmonton, Sturgeon, Parkland, etc.) if we have the room and resources. Please contact Gish School for more details.
