Message from Headteacher
As we approach the end of the year, I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you. Our highly anticipated St. Bon's Reconnect event is scheduled for 11th of July 2024. This first of its kind event will bring together alumni, friends of the school, current and past teachers providing us with the opportunity to meet again, network, re-connect, and celebrate the shared experiences that have profoundly shaped our lives.
In recent weeks, we had the privilege of welcoming several old boys back to the school, and we eagerly anticipate reuniting with many more of you at the St Bons Reconnect event.
Finally, I would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas, and a happy new year filled with success, joy, and prosperity.
Mr McCormack, Headteacher

Bobby Seagull Visit
"St Bonaventure’s was the five most formative years of my life. My advice is to have a growth mindset, have big dreams, and make sure the hard work starts today." - Bobby Seagull
Jermain Defoe's Winnrs Camp
During the half term, Jermain Defoe and Winnrs Camp ran an exciting football camp at St Bon's.
We're grateful to have such a fantastic ambassador for our school, and it's amazing to hear him speak so highly of the school.
It is always a pleasure to have Jermain back!
THROWBACK - LIPTON TROPHY WIN APRIL 1965
Our alumni Russell Mitchell shared with us two photos of the school football team on 5th of April 1965 winning the Lipton trophy. Russell was part of our team on that day.
The Lipton trophy was the London Schools Football Association Championship. We played the final at the old Spotted Dog ground against Borough Beaufoys School which we won 7-0. In the semi-final, we played Cheshunt and won 4-2.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Russell for sharing this remarkable memory. We invite our fellow alumni to contribute by sharing any photos from their time at the school, and we will ensure their memories are celebrated across our social media platforms. You can email your stories to alumni@stbons.org.

Volunteer: Police Encounter Panel
We were approached after Chair of Governors and alumni Tim Campbell MBE was on BBC London on results day. The volunteers who run Police Encounter Panels are looking for people who know Newham and the challenges of being a young person in Newham to join their team.
They feel the alumni of St Bon's would be a perfect representation on these panels. It is a voluntary role, but you would be working as an advocate for young people within the school.
For further information visit: Police Encounter Panels | Metropolitan Police
If you’d like to volunteer to become a member of the Police Encounter Panel, or discuss with a member what we do; please email: PolicingEncounters.NorthEast@met.police.uk
ALUMNI FUND
This term, your generous support to the Alumni fund has made a significant impact, enabling us to assist numerous students. Through your contributions, we were able to provide:
- 40 pairs of shoes
- Support to 3 families living in temporary accommodation
- An order for 10 Chromebooks to be gifted to students with no access
Your support to the Alumni fund has truly made a difference in the lives of current students, and we are grateful for your ongoing support. Thank you for helping us create positive change within our community.
FUTURE FIRST - ALUMNI VISITS
We know we have successful alumni in a wide range of fields, and it would be great to show the diversity of careers of our alumni, so please do sign up.
We are also looking to hear from more of our female alumni who are interested in coming in to inspire and work with our 6th form girls.
