Subject Highlights:
Each week will focus on a department within the school and share their nominations with you. This week our History team will be sharing their nominations with you.
Mr Foreman would like to say a massive well done to Year 13 History students who have completed their NEA coursework. It has been a pleasure to teach you this year, good luck in the A-Level exam and with your future endeavours. Also, well done to Year 11D History students, you have worked hard, and it has been a pleasure to teach you over the past 2 years, you have everything you need to succeed in your exams. Have confidence in yourselves and take this opportunity to show what you can do with both hands. Good luck in the exams and your future education.
Mr Foreman has also nominated 10A and 10B History who have just completed their second unit of work on Germany, finishing with a short assessment which we are certain will stand them in good stead for the Year 10 assessment In June. The commitment and dedication to the subject in lesson and indeed the homework that is set every week is really positive and something to continue for the rest of the academic year and into Year 11.
Finally, well done to 9TA on their recent Holocaust assessment outcomes, showing both a marked improvement and a consistent set of grades across the whole class, keep this up for the rest of the academic year, and 8ST who also made a good improvement in their recent Factory conditions assessments, well done, keep up the good work and ensure you write as much as possible.
Miss Buffini would like to say well done to Year 9 who have completed their assessments on the emotive subject of who was responsible for the Holocaust. Miss Buffini is so proud of the way they have all conducted themselves through this very sensitive topic.
Year 7’s are now beginning the Tudors, it is great to see some have a good knowledge from projects at primary school but not to worry if you don’t know anything about this period in History we cover it from scratch.
Finally, 8TA what a pleasure it has been for the last couple of lessons to teach you History.
Mr Goddard has nominated 7ST and 7CO for being really helpful to one another and working together in their History lessons on the crusades. Mr Goddard would also like to say well done to 8CA for a much improved assessment last week as they all worked really hard and many were able to exceed the current levels they were working at. 9TE and 9CA have both been excellent recently in their lessons on the Cold War, in particular the following deserve a mention for their skill and curiosity, CJ, Connor, Darius, Diana, Erin and Natalia.
Year 10 I have really impressed Mr Goddard who would like to congratulate them on the pace at which they have managed to finish their first two topics of History GCSE, as it sets us up very well to achieve next year come the exams.
Year 11 have also been taking their exam preparation very seriously, and Mr Goddard has been impressed recently with Naythen, Esosa, Stas, Zhivko, Bianca, Penny, Angela and Aadi in 11B and they will be well set up for next week's exams.
