National Paraprofessional Day!
Last Wednesday we celebrated National Paraprofessional Appreciation Day & we will celebrate the important work of our paraprofessionals. We thank these educators for their hard work and dedication to our students. They often provide teachers with administrative support, work with students outside of the classroom, & give one-on-one support to students. We always thank them for the vital work they do & thank them for their contributions to our schools!
Teacher on the Rise!
LHS sends out a big congratulations to Mrs. Laurie Villanueva on being honored by Mrs. Baird's Teacher on the Rise! Mrs. Villanueva was nominated by Jazmin Trejo for being a kind, compassionate teacher who cares about her students' successes! We appreciate the Teacher on the Rise program for recognizing our LISD educators and rewarding them and the student nominating as well! Congratulations Mrs. Villanueva!
LMS Science Lab
LMS sixth graders in Mrs. Sanders' Science class have experienced an exciting pH exploration lab! Throughout this unit, students have been learning about resource management practices and how they impact the availability of resources. As part of their learning, they created pollution awareness posters and researched the pros and cons of gas vs. electric vehicles. Mrs. Sanders #expectsexcellence and says, "It has been a fantastic unit filled with hands-on learning and critical thinking. Ask your child about their discoveries—we love seeing their curiosity grow!"

ABC Authors
Mrs. Peck's first-grade class have been working extra hard this semester to become published authors. Her students brainstormed how we use math outside the classroom. They practiced creating a draft by writing sentences and illustrating pictures to match math stories. Then they created their final draft and sent it off to be published! Well, they got their final product back in the mail! They celebrated becoming Published Authors by each receiving a certificate, making an author crown, and some bookworms! We are so proud of all their hard work! Congratulations Mrs. Peck and all your little authors! https://files.gabbart.com/463/peckauthors_1.mp4
