RETIREMENT CELEBRATION 2024
Retirement Celebration 2024
Prior to the Board of Education meeting, the district invited its soon-to-be retirees to be celebrated in a ceremony to recognize their years of dedicated service. Together, the 31 members of the Retirement Class of 2024 have a combined total of 718 years of service! Additionally, 22 retirees have been with the District for 20 years or more, 6 of them more than 30 years, and one of them has dedicated 35 years to District 15!
We are so grateful to have such amazing staff who make saying goodbye so difficult. We wish our retirees nothing but the best as they begin the next chapter in their lives. They will be deeply missed.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Pledge of Allegiance - Winston Campus Junior High
Interim Principal, Tomás Reyes and Warrior Way students were invited to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the Board of Education meeting. Mr. Reyes shared that students were selected by their teachers at WCJH because they embody the Warrior Way. The Warrior Way means they are kind, welcoming, accepting, respectful, and hard-working. The students exhibit the Warrior Way traits in and out of the classroom with their peers and WCJH’s staff every single day.
Thank you, for being leaders at Winston. Way to go, Warriors!
RECOGNITION

District 15 students auditioned for and were selected to participate in our Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) region’s “district festivals.” These honor ensembles bring together students from all over the area who are required to audition to be selected for their instrumental skills and achievements. This year, through the hard work of our students and staff, we had several students participate in the various band, jazz band, and orchestra festivals, and they were invited to be recognized at our board meeting.

Revised National Board Certified Staff
The District was informed of additional National Board Certified staff who were not included in the original list sent to us by the organization. We invited the additional staff to our Board meeting to ensure they had the opportunity to be recognized by the Board of Education as well.
National Board certification provides teachers, social workers, psychologists, speech and language pathologists, as well as occupational and physical therapists an advanced level of knowledge, skills, and training toward excellence in their field. For this reason, National Board Certification is recognized as the “gold standard” for professional educators and has a direct impact on the quality of services received by our students.
