Open course for all styles of karate
The 22nd edition of this most fabulous annual karate course. Hosted by Sensei Tony Hails 7th Dan
* Strength & Conditioning *
Instructors include current and former National Coaches from Australia, New Zealand, England, Norway and Fiji.
All students from all styles are most welcome. Train in as many sessions as you like amongst open-minded karateka from age 5 to 50+.

This is a pretty jam packed schedule! But that is to give you lots of options - you're not expected to do every session, but rather to choose that ones that you would like to attend. There will be more detail, showing the instructors and classes for each session, at the course.

7.30 – 8.30am Fun Run & Beach training (shorts / t-shirt)
9.15 – 10.15am Kids session and Weapons for adults
10.30am – 12.30pm Adults and senior kids session
1.15 – 2.15pm Kids session and Strength for adults
2.30 – 4.30pm Adults and senior kids session
4.45pm – Team kata competition
5.30pm - Golden League kumite

10.15 – 11.15am Kids blocker competition

Former assistant National Coach for Australia. Oceania referee. Current international veterans competitor.

Former Australian Champion. Kata and weapons specialist.
Alison Peachey 5th Dan Ishinryu
Oceania Kata & Kumite Judge, IKA Chief Referee. Former Australian Team Champion, International representative.

Current NSW state coaching panel. Kata, weapons and self defence specialist.
Ryan van Leent 5th Dan Shotokan
Weapons, kata, self and knife defence, tai chi. Shotokan referee.

Competitions
Current sports insurance is required to participate in any of the competitions (instructor to sign course entry)
- Fun run – 5 divisions, Saturday morning on the beach
- Gladiator – big padded sticks for the little kids (up to age 10ish)!
- Team kata – students assemble their own teams and nominate during the course, junior and senior divisions.
- Golden League – Open Men’s and Women’s kumite (18 years and over), and also 16-17’s. Modified WKF rules (will be clarified at the course). Enter at the course.
- Team kumite – organisers assemble the mixed teams -to enter the team kumite you must indicate your intention and submit your entry form before 21 February.
