Parent-Teacher Conferences are Coming Up!

Parent-teacher conferences for Hopkins Elementary School will be held on October 22nd (4-7 PM) and October 24th (4-6 PM). Elementary teachers will continue with the past practice of setting up meetings/planned times with parents/guardians in the coming weeks.

Halloween Costume Information

As we approach Halloween, we wanted to touch base on costumes. Costumes cannot include any dangerous or unsafe props (swords, weapons, unsafe objects). Costume should also not be bloody or gory. Students who do not wish to participate in the parade may stay in the office.

Pink Out/Hat Day Information for HES

Halloween Parade

Classroom Halloween/Fall Parties will be held on Friday, November 1st, which is a half day of school. Classroom party times will vary by teacher (new for 24-25) to avoid common planning times for teachers. We will also do our Halloween Parade this day. We will push out more information as we get closer.

Part Time Custodial Subs Needed!

Hopkins Public Schools is looking for part time custodial subs. These positions would service all buildings in the district. If you are interested or want more information, you can reach out Kyle Bockheim at kylebock@hpsvikings.org

Student Handbook Updates

For the 2024-2025 school year, Hopkins Elementary School and Sycamore Elementary School revamped their handbooks. Earlier in August, the Hopkins Board of Education approved the changes. You can view the handbook here: https://www.hpsvikings.org/wp-content/uploads/24-25-Elementary-Handbook.pdf


A couple changes of note:

  • Behavior Expectations - Page 15 - includes levels, consequences, and shows you the progressive discipline implemented.
  • Student Appearance - Page 18 - updated language.
  • Field Trips - Page 19 - includes information on how discipline effects field trips.

FinalForms should be updated every year! Remember it has your contact information in it and we know things change over the course of the summer.
