We are an OMA Gold & Kind School
Welcome to the New School Year: Message from the Principal
August Priorities
In the first month of school, your child(ren) will be learning about school routines and procedures across our campus and especially in their classroom. This includes classroom lessons and our school wide Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) program. Teachers and staff will be learning about your child's skills, needs, and goals. This will take place through assessments, discussions, and surveys. Help at home by sharing information, staying informed, and asking your child about the 4 Be's!
Attendance is Important
Coming to school everyday is the foundation of success. Our school has an established team of teachers and staff that will focus on increasing our student attendance rate to 95% daily. This team will provide celebrations when we meet this goal and supports as needed.
Student Arrival - Playground 8:00 - Lineup Bell 8:30
Outdoor morning playground supervision begins at 8:00 am. Students need to be dropped off in the curb area in front of Gate #2 on Bryant Ave. There is no parking permitted, please stay in your car. If parking is required, there is a lot marked “Visitor Parking” on Brown Ave and students can walk to enter in Gate #1. ALL other doors WILL BE LOCKED. No student shall arrive before 8:00 am, as it creates a safety concern for the unsupervised children. If earlier arrangements need to be made, please see additional information about Cub Club (below). The bus bay (marked in yellow directly in front of school on Bryant Ave.) is to remain clear of cars at all times.
Student Dismissal - Bell 2:45 (1:45 Wednesdays)
If your child takes the bus home, they will gather at the dismissal bell in the front office. If your child walks, they are to exit the building through the exterior doors/gates and use crosswalks at all times. Daycare programs (only) pick up students along the short curb in the staff parking lot. Parents/guardians can pick up “valet” curbside, which is located by Gate #2, along Bryant Ave. Students wait under the shade and are released to cars as each rolls up. There is no parking permitted, please stay in your car. Alternatively, parents/guardians can park in the “Visitor Lot” or on open street parking and pick up students outside their portable or at a designated meeting place on campus. Parking at the apartments or in front of driveways along streets is not allowed. Parents/guardians will not be permitted access inside the hallways until the bell rings. Dismissing 525 students at one time can be hectic, so please model patience and kindness for our children. Make sure you communicate with your child and with your child’s teacher about how they will get home.

Payment Needed for School Programming
Tax credit funds help to sustain many of our before and after school activities. Please consider a $40 general designation to Undesignated Tax Credit to support these continued opportunities for your child. Payment can be made via check or in person at the front office or contribute online at https://www.tusd1.org/donate . This funding can be helpful for before/after school activities and specials.
PE Program Fundraising
In order for Lineweaver to continue having a full time PE teacher and Physical Education program within the school day, we need your help!!! Please consider a donation to Lineweaver “Gifts and Donations” to help us meet our goal of raising $75,000 by February 15th, 2025. Doing so will allow your child to continue having PE next school year. Our office manager, Lisia Langejans can help with your deposit.
