HFRCS Newsletter October 15, 2024
SY 2024-2025 Vol. 4 Issue 6
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
By now, everyone should have received their child’s Hawk Walk donation link. And you may have seen on our school Facebook page, the classroom color reveal. Hawk Walk 2024 is officially underway! We currently have raised $8,855 toward our $35,000 goal. In addition to online giving, checks and cash are strongly encouraged and will be credited to your child’s account. The Hawk Walk is scheduled for Friday, October 25.
The Pot of Gold Challenge is now in its second week. Several of our families have sold consolation prize tickets! The class winner of week #1 and #2 was Mrs. Morrison’s KB classroom! Remember, parents can earn tuition credits by participating in the Pot of Gold program, which runs all year.
This Friday marks the midpoint of the first trimester. Please check the FACTS Family Portal to view your child’s grades thus far in the trimester and check in with your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns. Please mark your calendar for Parent Teacher conferences, which are scheduled for: Tuesday evening, November 5 and during the day Wednesday, November 6 for grades PK through 3rd grade; and Wednesday evening, November 6 and during the day on Thursday, November 7 for grades 4-8.
As a reminder, we will be having an early dismissal on Wednesday, October 16, as Queen of the Universe celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation for our 8th grade students and those in the parish PREP program. There is no after-school CARES tomorrow and parent pick up is needed for Neshaminy and Bensalem.
May God bless our confirmands and may the Holy Spirit come upon them at this sacred time.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty
We are a family of FAITH!
Remember to go to Mass this weekend.
Feast Day of St. Teresa of Avila, October 15
October Calendar Changes
Please note the following changes to the October calendar. The calendar that was distributed to the students will need to be updated with the following changes:
- Fire Prevention Program (PK-K) is on October 17, not October 9
- Book Club Section B meeting has been moved from October 22 to October 29
- Club dates have been added
Changes are highlighted/marked in the attached calendar. The calendar on the school website has the latest updates: https://hfrcs.org/calendar
November Lunch Order due Oct 18
The November lunch order form and menu is now available on our website. Orders are due by Friday, Oct 18.
We have removed the "all-year" and "all-month" options. Please select only the days your child will eat the hot lunch, especially if there are certain food requests or dietary restrictions/allergies. The lunch menu and order form are always available on our website. We rely on the accurate and timely input from the order form to order the correct quantity of food from NDS. Ordering too much food from NDS creates storage issues and/or menu changes for the next few days.
The expectation is that your child will come up to claim their lunch on the days ordered. If they do not, we end up with food waste as the lunch must be disposed of when unclaimed. If your child is not regularly coming up for their ordered lunch, they will be removed from future orders. A copy of your response/orders will be sent to your email (please verify the email address entered before submitting the form) and remind your child(ren) the days they are to get the hot lunch.
Any additional questions about the breakfast and lunch program can be addressed to Lunch Manager Mrs. Prasse patricia.prasse@hfrcs.org. If you have any issues with the order form, please contact Mrs. Mangapit michelle.mangapit@hfrcs.org.
