Hello JES Family!
What an incredible week with so many amazing things happening in our hallways, classrooms, school, and community!
We had a full house for our first Dragons & Donuts event of the year. Thank you to our Dad's Club for hosting this event, everyone who got up a little early to join us, and to our new Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn for being our guest speaker. If you weren't able to make it, we hope you can join us next time.
Good luck to all of our Dragon teams who are in their fall seasons. We are proud of the way you represent our schools and community.
I am so honored to be your Principal and to serve this beautiful community alongside my amazing staff. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns, questions, or joys to share with me!
GO DRAGONS!
Patrick Holladay, Principal
Attendance Update
Did you know...children who don't show up for school regularly miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers. The graphic shows results from a study that found children who missed more than 9 days per year in kindergarten and 1st grade were far less likely to read proficiently at the end of 3rd grade!
Attendance by the Numbers...
Mon Sep 9 - 97.39%
Tue Sep 10 - 98.69% (Kinder 100%!)
Wed Sep 11 - 97.72%

4th Grade Kindness Ambassadors
Johnson Elementary has a special leadership opportunity exclusively for our 4th grade students: the JES Kindness Ambassadors. Beginning with their first day at JES, our students learn about the value and importance of being kind, and now as 4th graders, they have an opportunity to take a leading role in fostering kindness throughout our school.
Kindness Ambassadors will have various responsibilities, including participating in the JES Welcome Team, contributing to the new JES Kindness Newsletter, helping lead our special events such as the Dollar Drive for our custodians and cafeteria team, and more!
Applications are available from Mrs. Bailey and are due back to Mrs. Bailey by 8:00 am on Friday, September 20th. Please reach out to Mrs. Bailey with any questions.
