A HUGE thank you to all our wonderful volunteers that helped make Celebration a success! There is so much work that goes behind the scenes making this event work and we could not do it without our parents that essentially take on a second job to prepare for this special evening. We do not have final calculations yet, but from what I hear it was a great success. It was a magical evening celebrating our amazing community. I have heard from many people saying it was one of the best fundraisers they ever attended. Thank you, Holy Cross, for making our community such a special place for not only our students, but for our families and the entire community.
Next week will be a busy week at school. We will have our St. Valentine's Day parties on Tuesday, February 13th due to Ash Wednesday falling on the 14th. Students are allowed to wear red/white/pink with a complete out of uniform. On Ash Wednesday, we will walk to Church right away, so if your child is not present by 8:10am, you will need to drop them off at Church. Please make sure your child has a coat or sweater to wear in case it is chilly when we walk over. We encourage our families to join us, but if you are unable to make it, Mass times are listed below.
We understand that the potential parade to celebrate the Super Bowl victory for the Chiefs would be on Wednesday, February 14th. With this being Ash Wednesday and due to the penitential solemnity of the day, including fasting and abstinence, Holy Cross will be in session on Wednesday, February 14. So let's cheer on the Chiefs to victory and look forward to a Lent of remembering our lord's Passion, death, and resurrection. If you choose to take your child out of school, we encourage you to consider attending Mass and then follow the school's absentee policy.
Parent Teacher Conferences are on Thursday, February 15th by teacher request. Your child's teacher will be in contact with you if they would like to meet. We strongly believe in the partnership between family, Church and school by working together in forming the whole child's academic, spiritual, and social development.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend cheering on those Chiefs and beautiful start to the Lenten Season next week.
