St. Luke Weekly Memo
June 21, 2021
Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
It is hard to believe that this year is coming to a close. This is a year that we will remember as a year of challenges and change. Our staff, students and parents showed amazing resilience as we all navigated through a year of restrictions, change in routines, and staying within our cohorts.
Throughout this year we did our best to learn, explore, inquire, make new friends and strengthen the bonds of our old friends. I would like to thank the outstanding efforts of the students, parents and the staff for making this year where we made the choice to Choose Joy. We have seen our students grow and have seen them flourish in their faith. The end to our year is not a typical end but the sense of community and belonging shines through.
To all of our students, I am so proud of the way you loved participating in your learning whether it was here at school or remotely. Pivoting back and forth to the online world proved to be a bit of a challenge but you all did the best you could and your teachers and I are grateful.
Thank you to our parents for supporting your children each and everyday especially through the trying times of navigating remote learning. Your willingness to be involved in their learning leads them toward opportunities for success. You are raising an amazing group of young people that we all hold dearly.
Thank you to all the staff for the love, caring and support you have shown towards all our students and our entire school community each and every day. Your incredible professionalism, collaboration, and hard work have truly been a blessing. You brighten our world every day and allow the light of our students to shine through. To those staff members that are leaving our St. Luke team: Mrs. Damur, Ms. Dexter, Ms. Merrick, Mr. Hawkes, and Mrs. Hycrun your dedication to our student’s success is amazing and very much appreciated. May the Lord love and protect you and be with you as you move onto your next journey.
To our grade 8 students who are now moving on to high school. You have shown incredible resilience in carrying on with your studies throughout these changing times. You stuck together and made our school a place where we can all learn and grow stronger together. Wherever your future leads you, we will be watching and cheering for you. We all look forward to seeing where your path takes you in this next phase of your lives.
To all of our school community - Choose joy and extend yourself in this joy whenever you can. Surround yourself with positive thoughts and love. Show gratitude…. And be thankful for all your many blessings.
As this year comes to a close and I end my first year here at St. Luke I will cherish all the memories from this year. Thank-you for making me part of this wonderful school community.
Summer is an amazing time of the year. Enjoy each moment with your family and friends as our world starts to reopen.
Have a blessed summer everyone and stay safe!

Kindergarten Program
Independence, initiative, decision making, creativity, the ability to learn, relationships and feelings of self-worth - all have their beginnings in early childhood. We believe that each child is unique and, together with parents as our partners, we build upon children's natural curiosity and spontaneity, encouraging and supporting them as they take their first step into school. To register for Kindergarten in the 2021-2022 school year, your child must be 5 years old by December 31, 2021. This program will run Tuesday/Thursday and alternating Fridays. For more informaiton on registration for the Kindergarten Program visit our EICS Kindergarten site.
Pre-Kindergarten Program
The St. Luke Pre-Kindergarten program is a Catholic faith infused, student-centred, play-based program in literacy and numeracy rich learning environment. Our Pre-Kindergarten program supports all students to learn and grow by working alongside our experienced and caring staff. Our Pre-Kindergarten program is taught by a knowledgeable and caring certified teacher and strives to ensure all students enjoy their first school experience and are excited to work and learn with their friends. Children must be 4 years old by December 31, 2021. Please note there is a $250.00/month cost to attend this progam. This program will run Tuesday/Thursday and alternating Fridays.
KinderPlus Program
