Superintendent's Update
December 20, 2024
Dear CCPS Families,
I want to celebrate and congratulate some remarkable individuals and teams in our school community. On December 16, we held our annual Support Staff of the Year Gala, where we honored two outstanding employees: Thomas Frick, our Lead Groundsman at the ASC Building, and Candice Magaw, Lead Secretary at North East High School. Their dedication and hard work make a tremendous difference in the success of our district, and we are proud to recognize them for their contributions.
Additionally, I’d like to congratulate the ten athletic teams that earned Fall Sportsmanship Awards. These teams were recognized at our most recent Board of Education meeting for exemplifying the highest standards of teamwork, respect, and integrity. Their success, both on and off the field, reflects the values we hold dear in our district.
I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our Fine Arts Department for the beautiful performances at the county's winter band, choral, and orchestra concerts. These events have been a true highlight, showcasing our students' and teachers' incredible talent and dedication.
As we head into the holiday season, I wish each of you a restful and joyous break. I hope this time with family and friends brings peace and renewal. We look forward to a prosperous New Year and another exciting chapter of growth and success in 2025.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools and community. I look forward to all we will accomplish together in the coming year.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
