We encourage every student to showcase their creativity and contribute to promoting a healthy and smoke-free environment on Tybee Island's beautiful beaches.

Starting a new school year can be an exciting time in a family’s life, but it can also be an overwhelming experience for a new family. TIMA is exploring the idea of creating a New Family Navigator Network to assist new families in navigating Tybee Island Maritime Academy. The Navigator Network program’s priority is to welcome new families as well as make sure their questions are answered and their transition to our school is smooth and enjoyable.

The Navigator Network will help new families by pairing them with current families at TIMA. The current TIMA family will assist new families by answering any questions and connecting them with resources and programs offered at TIMA. Most importantly, they will be a familiar face around the school to help new families feel more comfortable when everything else seems new. To begin the process of becoming a family in the Navigator Network, please fill out the form using the button below. Navigator Network Expectations-

• Share contact information with the new family and answer questions, when able. If unable to answer a question or if the nature of the question is sensitive, the mentor family will defer to the school to answer and provide assistance.

• Be a friendly, familiar face at TIMA events. Some opportunities to connect will be a Navigator Network introductions at meet & greet, time to gather at Curriculum Night, and fun in the sun at the Back to School Beach Social.

• Help make the transition to TIMA a positive experience.

• Honor confidentiality

Tybee Island YMCA will provide an enrichment Health and Wellness program for TIMA students. Children will follow a curriculum that will provide knowledge to develop their well being. The program operates in the cafeteria at TIMA, immediately after school.

Ages: 5 - 12 yrs old- limited space available Fees: Y Member/$55 per week or Potential members /$75 per week (a one time registration fee of $45 for everyone)

TIMA offers athletics for students in grades 6,7 & 8. All students wishing to participate in evaluations, practices and games MUST have a current physical on file with Athletic Director, Noel Ingram. Students must also meet the athletic eligibility requirements to participate. Physical packets and eligibility guidelines can be found in the folder linked below.
