First Quarter 2013
Teaching and Learning
Students
We welcomed the GOAL program to daily teaching and learning in the library by converting two storage spaces into individual classrooms. Creating learning opportunities for all of our students is the ultimate goal of our transition to a learning commons. We are proud of taking a big step towards fulfilling that promise.
Research and Technology Course
Half the freshman class completed Research and Technology this quarter, meeting the following standards and learning new skills. Mrs. Hanson taught 50 Res-Tech classes.
- Inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge.
- Draw conclusions, make informed decisions, apply knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge.
- Share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society.
- Pursue personal and aesthetic growth.

- Fiction circulation is up 6% from 1st quarter 2012
- Nonfiction circulation is down 57% from 1st quarter 2012
Why? We'll see what happens next quarter.
Computers
Netbook lending is up 95% because of BYOT. When students forget their computers they borrow one of these.
