Counselors Corner

Hello Otter Families! We are your school counselors, Mrs. Cuviello and Mrs. Laurino, and we're both so excited for another Otterific year with you all! Mrs. Cuviello is going into her 9th year as a school counselor at Oakstead, and will be working with grades 1, 3, and 5 for the year. Mrs. Laurino is going into her 3rd year as a school counselor at Oakstead, and will be working with grade KG, 2, and 4. • Classroom Lessons using our district curriculum, "Safer, Smarter Kids"

Our classroom lessons are imbedded in the general education setting, where we visit classrooms to deliver these lessons. If you would like more information on this district-wide curriculum, you may visit: https://safersmarterkids.org/home/

Individual Counseling is available for all students, at request of either the parent/guardian, the student's teacher(s), or the student themself.

Small Group Counseling is needs-based, and available by teacher referral, with parent/guardian approval. If your student is not referred for a group, but you want them to participate, please reach out to Mrs. Laurino or Mrs. Cuviello directly; our emails are listed below.

Our Otter Pond Award is an ongoing celebration for when students are selected by their homeroom teacher as exemplifying one of our monthly celebrated and learned about Otter Pond Den Principles: Unity, Wisdom, Tenacity, Gratitude, Mindfulness.

We have our next Otter Pond Awards ceremony when we return from Spring Break, celebrating Unity!💙
