3rd & 4th Grade Wax Museum this past week!
The 2025 Wax Museum was amazing! These kids did a terrific job! Continuing with a longstanding tradition, the Chamisa third and fourth graders presented their annual Wax Museum show on Wednesday, May 7th. Now, how does this work? Each third and fourth grader at Chamisa Elementary School did research on a famous person, and then they turned this research into a speech to tell the story of their person. The students will present in costumes as if they were/are a famous person. Some of the people that the students chose to research include but are not limited to Secretary Deb Haaland, Billy the Kid, George Washington, Jane Goodall and several members of royalty. La Llorona will be there as well, so watch out!
Third graders researched a person of their choice. Fourth graders researched a person of their choice with a tie to either New Mexico or the American Revolution. Several 4th graders chose to research a famous relative they have that is tied to New Mexico!

Attendance Matters!
Chamisa Families:
As we get into the last 2 weeks of school, please be cognizant that your student(s) is present at school, and coming on time to school. The school is auditing student attendance for the school year. Please make sure to continue to let the office know of any absences, or upcoming absences. Students are only allowed 10 parent excused absences for the year. If absences are starting to affect a student's academic progress, a meeting will be called with the family to address the issue.
