New Albany High School
Family Update - January 12, 2025
Principal's Message
We hope you and your family had a restful and relaxing winter break! Although we are only half way through the school year, we are gearing up for student scheduling for the 2025-2026 school year. Our teachers, counselors, and administrators are committed to supporting students in selecting courses that support their future goals, connect to their passion, and maximize their growth. We also look forward to the continued implementation of our House System, focused on creating an environment where students have a strong sense of belonging and can learn at high levels.
Rob Russell, Ed.D.
Principal
Registration Night
We invite you to attend New Albany High School’s Registration Night on Monday, January 27 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. This is an event to support families as they navigate the scheduling process for the next school year. The evening includes presentations as well as a curriculum fair where our teachers will be available to answer questions about course offerings. Please click on the link below for more details about course registration.
Attendance
Cell Phones
Thank you for your help supporting our cell phone expectations. One of our focus points is to enhance student engagement in the classroom. Constant electronic interruption interferes with students' ability to deeply engage in the learning process.
To support learning in the classroom, the expectation at New Albany High School is that students do not use cell phones during class periods, including study centers. For students who bring cell phones to class, each classroom has a cell phone storage caddy where the phones must be placed when students enter the classroom. Students may use cell phones between class periods and during lunch periods.
We are asking for your help in communicating these expectations with your children about cell phone use at school.
Student Parking Reminders
Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spots on campus. As a reminder, the green parking tags are assigned to the Church of the Resurrection, Orange Parking tags are assigned to the High school Football Stadium. Blue Parking tags are assigned to the Tennis courts.
For new Drivers that received their license over the holiday break, please go to this link to apply for a parking pass. Once you have completed the form you can pick up your parking pass in the E office.
Remember to drive safely and take extra time to get where you are going during this winter season.

Concord Counseling Corner
On the behalf of Concord Counseling Services, happy New Year! As we welcome a new year, many of us are inspired to set resolutions that allow for personal growth which can be very positive for our mental health, even small milestones can enhance self-esteem and foster a sense of accomplishment. However, the resolutions we often make for ourselves can be overly ambitious, which can lead to frustration and feelings of failure, that is why it is essential to set realistic, achievable goals. By setting realistic goals, focusing on the process, and practicing self-compassion, we can turn this tradition into a positive force in our lives. Here’s to a year of growth, resilience, and well-being—one step at a time!
Here are some valuable resources to help you explore how to set New Year’s goals in a healthy way: Resolution Resources
