A Message from Principal Hann
Scorpion families,
At Desert Edge, we believe our school is more than just a place for learningโitโs a community where we all have a role in shaping the environment. We ask for your continued support as we guide our students to be the best versions of themselves, embracing the idea that together, we thrive. By encouraging them to lift one another up with their words and actions, we can foster a positive and respectful atmosphere where everyone can grow stronger.
In line with the message from our Superintendent, a safe and friendly learning environment is essential for student success. Your support as parents plays a critical role in this effort. By continuing to encourage positivity, respect, and understanding at home, you help to reinforce the values we uphold here on campus.
Kudos to STUGO!
A special shout-out to our STUGO team for their incredible effort in making Homecoming Week a huge success! From the spirited pep assembly to the game and the amazing dance, their hard work paid off, and we are so proud of the way our students showed their Desert Edge pride. Thank you to all who helped make this week memorable!
Quarter Grades Update
As we approach the end of the first quarter, we want to remind you that quarter grades serve as a checkpoint to inform both parents and students of academic progress. These grades are not placed on transcripts; instead, they are a valuable tool to see where students stand at this halfway point. Quarter grades will be posted on Friday afternoon for you and your student to review. This is a great opportunity to celebrate successes and identify areas for growth as we continue to work toward a strong finish this semester.
Fall Break Reminder
As a reminder, we will have an early release at 11:15 AM on Friday, October 4th to kick off Fall Break. There will be no school from October 7th through October 11th. We wish everyone a restful and enjoyable break! Take this time to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. We look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed and ready to finish the semester strong!
Thank you for your continued support in making Desert Edge a place where we thriveโtogether.
Wishing you a great week ahead!

Opportunities Outside of DEHS
A message from Mrs. Royal:
I'm Denise Royal, the Director of Theatre Arts at DEHS. As a high school student, I had the opportunity to participate in Educational Travel outside of the U.S. and it was an experience that changed my life! That experience, and all the personal growth I gained from that trip, is what fuels my desire to share these experiences with our student community. Having led several tours with EF over the last few years to both Europe & Asia, I am excited to share with you some new opportunities for student travel. Although this is not a school sponsored program, for over 50 years, EF Tours has worked with educators throughout the world to make the dream of travel available to their students. I hope you will consider one of these opportunities for your DE student.
