Yale Book Nook
Miss Rumphius, by Barbara Cooney
In 1982, Prince's "1999" was topping the charts, Indiana Jones was raiding the lost ark, and Miss Rumphius quietly emerged into the picture book scene. Want to make the world a better place? You don't have to go to the moon or invent a faster car, perhaps all you need are some seeds. See how Miss Rumphius did it in Miss Rumphius!
Midsummer's Mayhem, by Rajani LaRocca
The Food Network is wonderful, but every once in a while do you wish there was perhaps more sibling drama and fantasy elements, and also a retelling of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream? Rajani LaRocca has you covered with Midsummer's Mayhem! This adaptation takes place in a contemporary setting, with all the macarons, brownies, and cupcakes sadly missing in Shakespeare.
