High Lonesome Stables
Congratulations to High Lonesome Stables on their new arena! April 26th was a beautiful day for a volunteer appreciation day as well as a ribbon cutting for the newest addition to their facilities. Thank you for all the good you do for our community and we are excited for your new arena! If anyone is looking for a beautiful place full of good people to volunteer and make a difference, look no further than High Lonesome Therapeutic Equestrian Center!

Andrews Valley Rail Tours NOW OPEN!
Murphy Public Library
Join Producer, Lead Investigator and New Jersey Native Mike Familant as he shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth behind North America's most iconic cryptid, Bigfoot.
Mike has been researching this amazing creature for over 13 years, and has captured some impressive evidence along the way. From the Florida Swamps to the North Country of Maine and everywhere in between, Mike is the full-time, lead investigator and producer of the show, "In the Shadow of Big Red Eye."
A Q&A will be held after the presentation and Mike will be available after for photographs and autographs.

It's Opening Day for the Andrews Farmer's Market! Starting May 2nd, the Andrews Farmer's Market will be open every Friday from 12pm - 4pm at the old A&P Parking Lot. Come kick off the season with them this Friday!

This event is focused on outdoor activities and recreation with a selection of quality arts and craft vendors. We have an entire day’s schedule full of fun and free activities for all ages – check out the schedule below for more details. This event is hosted in partnership with Graham County Travel and Tourism.

Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association
Join us for Beginning American Sign Language (ASL) Workshop with instructor Georgia Cline. This is a 6-Week Course May 1 to June 5 (Thursdays 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm). Students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar of ASL. Upon completion of this class, students will be able to exchange basic information about themselves and their families such as names, where they live and their interests.

Cherokee County Arts Council
The Cherokee County Arts Council of NC invites artists to apply as vendors in the 8th Annual Art, River and Music Festival. This is a juried festival for fine art and craft creators, and will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15, along the Murphy Riverwalk path adjacent to downtown Murphy NC. To apply, email a request for the application to director@cherokeeartscouncil.org. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 16th.

Fields of the Wood Cruise Meet
Join us on Saturday, May 17th for a cruise down the Cherohala Skyway! We will be meeting at Fields of the Wood (10000 Hwy 294, Murphy) at 9:30am and then cruising the 43 mile National Scenic Byway from Tellico Plains, TN to Robbinsville,NC. We are planning a lunch at Tapoco Lodge in Robbinsville to complete our drive.
