Mustang Minute 2/21/25
Happy Friday, Morse Families!
It’s been a short but busy week here at Morse, and we’re looking ahead to wrapping up February and welcoming March. As we transition into the new month, we’re also preparing for spring conferences, which will take place on March 12th & 13th.
Conference sign-up links will be emailed to you by the end of next week, and we encourage all families to schedule a time. While spring conferences were previously held on an as-needed basis, the shift to two marking periods has brought a district-wide change to ensure strong home-school connections. This updated format provides conference opportunities for all families, reinforcing the level of communication and collaboration you expect in TSD.
*Please see the parent/teacher conference policy below as it relates to requesting more than one conference per student.
PARENT – TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent – teacher conferences occur twice per year in the fall and in the spring. To ensure fair and efficient use of time for all families, each family will be allocated one time slot for parent-teacher conferences. This policy helps accommodate all families and allows for a focused, productive meeting.
In rare and extreme circumstances where additional time may be necessary, families may request an exception through the building principal. Any exceptions must be approved prior to scheduling an additional conference slot. We appreciate your cooperation in respecting this policy to ensure an equitable process for all involved.
Community Assistance
We have another Morse family in need of our help. Tiffany Pittman has suffered severe side effects due to an MRI and is no longer able to work. Her family has been battling this since the fall of 2023 and could use our support. Please see the GoFundMe link below for more information.
Noon Aides Needed
With Mr. Bruce’s retirement and other scheduling changes, we are actively looking for additional noon aides to support our students during lunch and recess. This is a Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–1:30 PM shift. If you’re interested or would like more information, please reach out to me or Mrs. Hessler at lhessler@troy.k12.mi.
Please be sure to check out the resources and links below for information from our PTO and enrichment clubs. We have a lot of exciting events coming up!
