Hello Huntley families,

We've had a fun-filled week learning about holiday traditions from other cultures, elf sightings, listening to the holiday music from Appleton North, and many exciting classroom activities. As a reminder, school is closed for winter break Monday, December 23rd through Wednesday, January 1st. The first day back for students is Thursday, January 2nd and our office will be closed throughout that time as well.

No matter how you spend the winter break or who you spend it with, take time to enjoy those around you or those quiet moments to yourself. When life gets busy, it is important to focus on what matters most. Thank you for giving us the best gift of all, your children. It has been our pleasure to work with them each and every day. We look forward to seeing everyone back in 2024!

5th grade students got creative during their monthly incentive by making creations using on black dot. What a fun and engaging activity for the week before break!

Important Reminder: Intent to Attend Surveys for Sandy Slope Elementary

If you responded to the Intent to Attend survey sent on December 2, and do not wish to change your answer, you do not need to complete an updated survey.

Please complete one survey for each student. This survey can be found in the parent portal, under Message Center. This survey will close on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Thank you for your response!

Thank you to everyone who has already completed the Intent to Attend survey. We understand that your decision regarding Sandy Slope Elementary may depend on several important factors, such as:

• Charter school application results, which will be available starting March 7, 2025.

• Transportation questions or concerns that are still being resolved.

• Peer and friend decisions about where they’ll attend.

• Staffing information. (Please note: Staffing decisions are shared with families in August, before the school’s Meet and Greet event.)

We recognize these considerations are significant. However, it’s vital that families complete the Intent to Attend survey as soon as possible. Your response directly impacts our planning for staffing, resources, and programming—critical elements to creating the best experience for Sandy Slope students.

If we do not receive a response, we will follow up individually to ensure all families are accounted for. Thank you for your cooperation.
