The most robust and high-functioning organizations develop a culture and love of learning not only amongst the students, but amongst all adult stakeholder groups as well. As principal, creating opportunities for adult learning is one of the many highlights of my job. I truly believe that the best predictor of who our children are is who we are. As the adults in their lives, we are models for our students who are constantly watching our actions, our intentions, and our words. If we are readers, our students will be readers. If we are compassionate, our students will learn how to show compassion. If we look for the good in people, our children will as well. Each Wednesday, our teachers engage in this professional growth, delving into curriculum, and collaborating to improve student achievement and social-emotional growth. Throughout the year at the Coffee & Chat with the Principal, I will facilitate parent and community learning as well. In this work we do together, we model being the life-long learners we want our children to be.
