Dear Early Steps Families:

Your children fill our classrooms and our hearts with joy! By now, they've adjusted well to the structure that is 'school' and are becoming more social beings as they make friends, share toys and puzzles, and learn about themselves in the process. Letter recognition and sounds, calendar, counting, and engaging in early literacy during read alouds are a part of their daily routines.

Later this month, WPS will unveil a new website and on our Early Steps pages you will find information and links around registration (including Kindergarten by December), staff members, newsletters, and more as we build it up. I will share it in my next newsletter.

Be sure to read the section of my newsletters 'Some Important Dates' and note these dates/times on your calendars. Our Cunniff and Lowell School friends may have slightly adjusted times/days.

If you happen to have any unwanted/leftover Halloween candy (even just the stuff that your family might not like!), we will gladly take it off your hands in the Main Office. I am often purchasing candy for faculty meetings, professional development, etc. and your extra's are much appreciated.

Hello WPS Community,

The colorful autumn leaves are just beginning to fall from the trees and our school year is well

underway! As colder weather is settling in and we are spending more time together indoors,

let's give some attention to our health and wellness.

One of the best ways to protect yourself, your children, and your loved ones from respiratory

illness is to get your Flu and Covid-19 vaccines this season. The Watertown Public Health Department is offering free influenza vaccines to people ages 9 and over at the Watertown Free Public Library located at 123 Main Street. Please register ahead to secure your appointment on one of the following days and times:

• Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 3:30 to 6:30pm (register here) or Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (register here).
• Be sure to bring your ID and health insurance card(s) to the clinic, and wear loose or short sleeves if possible. If you feel sick on the day of your vaccination, please reschedule. Call 617-972-6446 if you have any questions or would like more information.
