GIRLS ON THE RUN Spring 2024 PROGRAM REGISTRATION STARTING SOON
Girls on the Run is the nation’s leader in girl programing that focuses on the whole girl: mind, body,
spirit. Register your 3rd-5th grade girl for a season of learning important skills, setting and achieving goals and starting healthy habits for life.
Girls on the Run focuses on the important things. We focus on more than running. This is not a
running club. We focus on unleashing confidence and kindness in ALL girls.
Registration dates: January 29 – February 7; lottery run on February 9
Season dates: February 19 – May 11
Registration Process
- Registration is open Monday, January 29 at 10:00 am until Wednesday, February 7 at 11:59 pm.
- Registration link: https://www.pinwheel.us/register/index/GOTRGC-S24-program
- Lottery day, February 9: If more than 16 girls apply, lottery will be run and guardians will be informed whether or not their child has been accepted. If less than 16 girls registered, all girls (and registration payments) will be processed on February 9 and registration will reopen on Saturday, February 10 at 10:00 am as first-come, first-served until full or the fourth lesson.
- Girls with parent/relative coaches are automatically accepted to the team but must be registered and paid for according to the sliding scale by February 7 . There is a question on the online registration form asking if the person completing the registration is a current coach. This lets GOTR know who needs a priority registration.
Club Updates
- Chess Club is getting close to resuming. I still don't have an official date but I'm very hopeful for early February. Our partners at Proscan Chess in partnership with the Chris Collinsworth Foundation are working to secure us a new instructor. They currently have candidates in the pipeline that are awaiting clearance of their background checks. Once the checks are complete we are first in line to be assigned an instructor to resume our club.
- Drama Club for 4th-6th student sign-ups will be available soon! Our students completed a survey to help determine what type of clubs they'd be interested in, Musical Theatre (singing and dancing) or Acting (no singing and dancing). The survey results were very split so we will offer both. The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) will provide us with 3 teaching artists to lead our students based on their interests. The clubs will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with each day offering a different discipline. Students are welcome to attend 1, 2 or all 3 days if they'd like. So, 4th-6th grade parents please check with your students about their interest so you're prepared when sign-ups are made available!
- The spring play for K-3rd students is also on the horizon. Our partner from Performing Arts, Inc is putting together a Kilgour production of Finding Nemo Jr. More details and registration will come in early February with rehearsals expected to start March 7th. This will be a before school opportunity. Just like Willy Wonka, there will be a registration cost associated with the play that helps offset the cost of putting on the performance. There may also be a costume fee.

The goals for spring practice will be continued skill development in a clinic style practice while reducing the schedule commitments and overlap with other spring sports offered by KSB.
