π Paul Quinn College Coming to Crowley ISD Middle Schools
On Aug. 8, 2024, Crowley ISD and Paul Quinn College announced a groundbreaking Texas Innovation Partnership aimed at advancing educational excellence and improving student outcomes across all four Crowley ISD middle schools.
Texas Innovation Partnerships, established by Senate Bill 1882, give school districts like Crowley ISD the opportunity to collaborate with institutions of higher education to create tailored educational solutions that meet community needs and equip students for future college, career and military success.
The 2024-2025 school year will serve as a dedicated planning year for this partnership as Crowley ISD and Paul Quinn College collaborate closely to design and implement innovative educational strategies for Crowley ISD middle school students. The planning year will include a series of community meetings and workshops to gather feedback and ideas, ensuring that the partnership reflects the needs and aspirations of this community. Detailed information about these events will be shared in the coming months.
Dr. Michael McFarland, superintendent of Crowley ISD, said this transformative partnership with Paul Quinn College is possible because of the visionary Crowley ISD Board of Trustees and its commitment to excellence while making Crowley ISD the top in Tarrant County.
βWeβve seen the power of collaboration many times before in Crowley ISD,β Dr. McFarland said. βBut this new partnership between two institutions with proven track records of innovation and success will make what before has been only possible actually tangible for our students. With Paul Quinn in Crowley ISD, our students will graduate from high school with more than just a diploma. They will leave with choices and opportunities to thrive.β

π Solar Eagles Bring Home Awards
Crowley ISD school board members and administrators celebrated the success of the Crowley High School Solar Eagles who took third place in a highly competitive solar car competition at Texas Motor Speedway.
Members of the Crowley High School Solar Eagles team took home a third-place trophy after qualifying to compete in The Solar Car Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway in July.
Trustees recognized Crowley High School instructor James Schroeder and the students, some who graduated in May, who worked long hours this summer on this project that began as an idea two years ago.
"You all should be commended for the work that you have done," Board President Daryl R. Davis said. "It is no small feat what you all have accomplished in just two years ... Congratulations to you all. You all have personified what it means to act like a family and work like a team."
Board Secretary Nedra Robinson called it a "phenomenal vehicle."
"I love seeing real-world things come to life β the mathematics, the science, the engineering. You are talented and well on your way" she told the students.
The Solar Car Challenge was established in 1993 to help motivate students in science and engineering and to increase alternative energy awareness. It teaches high school students around the world how to build roadworthy solar cars. The 2024 Solar Car Challenge, hosted by Oncor and Lockheed Martin, is a closed-track event at the Texas Motor Speedway.
