Lakeview Ledger
February 15, 2024
Dear Lakeview Families,
It's certainly a busy time of the year! Because our school year is ending earlier than normal, we find ourselves already starting the 3rd trimester which means we’re in the final stretch. Report cards became viewable in IC earlier this week.
Next week is the last week to raise money for the Kids Heart Challenge -Click Here to support a great cause.
Also, don’t forget to wear Green clothes tomorrow!
Small school, big heart... Lasting impact

Teacher teams will begin to plan for 2024-25 class rosters in April and May. When preparing classroom placements for next year, our staff carefully considers the match of student and teacher, the blend of students within a room, and the balance of both classes academically, socially, and by gender. This procedure is used so that classrooms of the same grade are heterogeneous and balanced academically and socially. As we begin to construct class lists for next year, the Lakeview Elementary staff will consider many factors including parent/guardian input on learning needs and styles.
2024-25 Incoming 4K Student and Caregiver Open House
Please join us on April 4th anytime between 5:30-7:00 PM at Bay Lane Elementary. When you arrive, be sure to grab a Student Bingo Card that will lead you and your child through our 4K classrooms. Each classroom will be open with a designated activity for students to participate in. During the open house, students and caregivers will have an opportunity to learn more about math, literacy, writing, fine motor, school readiness and social skills. It should take approximately 30-45 minutes to visit all the planned activities. There will be classroom teachers and administrators available to provide information and answer general questions you might have. More information regarding 4K and registration can be found on our district website.
3rd and 4th Grade FORWARD Testing Schedule
Forward Testing for 3rd and 4th graders will be taking place April 8th - 19th
Testing will be scheduled in the morning only.
Please avoid scheduling any appointments (doctor, dentist, ortho, etc.) during the testing time.
More information will be shared when we get closer to the testing dates.
PBIS February Student Summary
Lakeview students are working hard to be safe, kind, and responsible at school. Each month, behavior referral (majors and minors) graphs are shared with the staff and students. We wanted to share data trends with you as well. When teachers share the graphs with their students, they hold important conversations about behavior in regard to trends, hypotheses, and actions to improve the number of referrals each month. Below are some of the awesome noticings and action steps from some of the classrooms at Lakeview:
Noticings, Action Steps, and Student Suggestions
Third grade had the least major/minors in February
From a 1st grader “I wonder what they are doing to do so well each month?”
Referrals most often happen in the lunchroom, at recess, or in the classroom
Referrals least often happen in the gym or in the bathroom
We need to remember to be respectful and practice expectations all of the time
Most kids at Lakeview are trying their best and not getting behavior write ups
Youth Art Month
Happy Youth Art Month Muskego-Norway Families!
The Muskego-Norway Art Department will be hosting a month-long art show at the Muskego Public Library this March. We have so many dedicated and talented artists throughout our district that we are excited to share with all of you. Please consider stopping by to view the art made from students ranging from Kindergarten all the way up to High School!
Attendance
Doctor excuses, doctor excuses, doctor excuses. Why should you get them? A doctor excuse is necessary for any absence over 10 days (per state statute) to be considered an excused absence. However, when attendance is reviewed, the student records that have doctor excuses prior to the receiving the School Board Policy Excessive Excused Absences letter, may not get that letter at all or may prolong the receipt of that letter.
