Principal's Message - Mr. Stoney
Dear Mary M. Knight Families,
As we enter our third week of the school year, I'm thrilled to share the exciting happenings at our school. The energy and enthusiasm I've seen from our students, staff, and families have been truly inspiring.
Last week, we introduced pickleball during recess, which has been a hit with our students. It's wonderful to see them embracing new activities and staying active. Our focus on developing important life skills like responsibility and problem-solving is already showing positive results in our classrooms and beyond.
Looking ahead to this week, we have several important events:
- Monday (9/16): Our MMK District Facility Planning Committee will meet at 6:00 PM in the Superintendent's Office. If you're interested in helping with short-term and long-term facility planning, please attend.
- Tuesday (9/17): Our volleyball team plays at Lake Quinault at 5:30 PM.
- Wednesday (9/18): We have a late start, and our flag football team plays at Oakville at 5:30 PM.
- Thursday (9/19): We're hosting a volleyball game against Naselle at 5:30 PM.
- Saturday (9/21): Our high school football team plays at Lake Quinault at 1:00 PM.
I'm excited to announce that we kicked of our pre-school program last week which was a great and positive start, welcoming our youngest learners to the MMK family. We'll also had a special assembly on Thursday to boost school spirit – your children might come home extra excited that day!
Remember, we're continuing to recognize students who demonstrate GRIT (Growth, Resilience, Intensity, and Tenacity). These qualities are essential for success both in and out of the classroom, and we're proud to celebrate students who embody them.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone about our new Mary M. Knight District App. It's a great way to stay connected with all things MMK. You can download it for both Android and iPhone devices.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we're creating a vibrant learning community where every student can thrive.
Here's to another fantastic week of learning and growth at Mary M. Knight!
Warmly, Mr. Stoney
