Reynolds' Report
Happy December, Roadrunner Families!
It was such a joy having student back on campus last week! I loved hearing about everyone's holiday break!
I hope you will consider joining us this week for our PTO meeting on Tuesday in the First Street School library at 6:00pm. We love seeing new faces at our meetings! We will be finishing our planning for the December Holiday Shop and will also be looking forward into 2024 to plan our awesome spring events!
As we start into the winter season, we are noticing a lot of students who are missing jackets and coats. Please remember to put your child's name in their jacket or coat and remind them to check the lost and found rack regularly, it is overflowing! We want our students happy and warm every day here at school!
Have a cheerful week, Roadrunners!

Topic of the Week
BEEP Skills : Be Safe - Use Kind Language!
This week, we talked about the importance of the words we use to speak to each other. It's not only important to keep each others' bodies safe, but it is also important to keep each other's hearts safe by using kind words.
Some ways we talked about showing kindness through our words are:
- Hold the door for someone and say something nice as they pass by
- Invite someone to play with you
- Give someone a compliment
- Make a card with kind words
- Tell a friendly joke to someone
- Compliment a teacher
- Smile at people and say hello
- Tell someone why you are thankful for them
- Use school appropriate words instead of cursing
- Keep mean thoughts to yourself instead of saying them out loud
- When someone doesn’t know something, encourage them instead of laughing
Ask your student what ways they are showing kindness this week at school!

Student Quarantine:
Effective this year, California Department of Public Health has replaced most of the requirements about student quarantine with recommendations. The one remaining requirement is that students who are ill must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aide of fever-reducing medications before they are able to return to school.
