LECC Tiger Talk

Principal's Message
What an exciting week we’ve had! The joy and sparkle in the children’s eyes today as they walked into the building was absolutely unforgettable. Polar Express Day has truly brought the magic of the season alive for all of us.
Our incredible teachers (or should we say elves!) worked tirelessly to transform the hallways into a winter wonderland last night. From twinkling lights to festive decorations, every detail was designed to make this morning’s arrival special for our students. The awe and wonder on their faces were the perfect reminder of what this season is all about.
Throughout the week, the students have been busy engaging in festive activities, learning, and, of course, counting down to this special day. From reading holiday stories to crafting their own creative projects, their enthusiasm has been contagious.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school community such a warm and vibrant place. We’re so grateful to share these magical moments with your children.

Counselor's Corner
When school lets out for Winter Break, all the excitement may lead to a hectic household. After a few days of disrupted routines and cabin fever, families may be feeling stress! These tips can help keep Winter Break joyful!
- Have a countdown. Put activities on a calendar to reduce questions about what you are doing and when. Use pictures/stickers to make it easier for kindergarteners and preschoolers to use independently.
- Make a list of activities that children can engage in when you are not with them (for example, if they’re at home while you’re at work).
- Try to keep your child’s schedule fairly consistent. The more often you change your normal routine, the bigger the adjustment when you have to go back to your original schedule.
- Remain as consistent as you can with expectations while factoring in the changes - different environments, being around family, unusual schedules.
- Do a mix of fun and lazy day activities. Kids need some downtime to reset before heading back to school.

Science and Innovation Expo 2025
This year Loveland will be hosting our first ever Science and Innovation Expo! The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 9 am to 12 pm at Loveland High School. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing learning that happens around Loveland! The Science and Innovation Expo is a one-day event that incorporates two pathways for students to pick from, a Science Expo and an Innovation Expo.
For more information about each pathway, click here to watch a video, or read the brief description below:
Here is more information about each pathway:
- The Science Expo is a traditional science fair where students have the opportunity to conduct a scientific research project or engineering design project, and present their findings to their peers and community judges, with the opportunity to qualify for Regional Science Day at University of Cincinnati, called the Science and Engineering Expo. If students achieve well at UC, they have the opportunity to qualify for State Science Day at Ohio State University. This pathway is open to students in grades 5-12, and students can present individually or up to groups of three.
- The Innovation Expo is an open-ended opportunity for students to identify a problem and solve it with something they will create, or to simply create and share something creative, inventive, or innovative. Some ideas may be a DIY craft, coding/computer science project, an engineering creation, or anything else in which your child creates something to share! This pathway is open to all students grades PreK-12, and community judges will provide informal feedback about strengths of each project, as well as areas to grow. Students can participate individually or up to groups of three.
To learn more details about the event, how to submit a project, project ideas, and project requirements, visit Loveland's website at https://lovelandschools.org/expo
For any questions, please reach out to innovation@lovelandschools.org. We hope to see you on February 1st!
