Choose Respect Anti-Bullying Week 2024
Cyberbullying takes place electronically. Electronic technology includes devices and equipment such as cell phones, computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media, text messages, chat, and websites. Join us this October in bringing awareness and stopping cyberbullying.
Examples of cyberbullying include mean text messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles. Visit the stop bullying website for more informaiton. (https://www.stopbullying.gov/).
October 21st- 25th
Monday: “Be a Digital Hero!”
Theme: Learn about cyberbullying and how to stop it.
Activity: Make a “Digital Hero” badge or cape and write how they can be a hero by stopping cyberbullying.
Tuesday: “Think Before You Type!”
Theme: Practice kindness and respect online.
Activity: Discuss with your trusting adult how words can hurt or heal, especially online.
Wednesday: “United We Stand!”
Theme: Stand up for others and be an upstander.
Activity: Wear blue (the color of anti-bullying) to show unity against cyberbullying.
Thursday: “Be a Safe Surfer!”
Theme: Stay safe online and protect your privacy.
Activity: Students draw posters showing ways to stay safe while using the internet. Show off your posters during classroom character and career lessons.
Friday: “Spread the Positivity!”
Theme: Spread kindness, both online and offline.
Activity: “Acts of Kindness” challenge where students commit to doing something nice for a friend or classmate by signing the Anti-Cyberbullying Pledge.
