A Note from Mr. Schmidt

St. Petronille Families,

What an incredible week of fun and events at St. Petronille! Our students were overjoyed yesterday at the announcement of our new Pope Leo XIV, especially after learning his Chicago roots! We also had the opportunity to welcome our new PreK students for their screening day, and celebrate our graduating 8th graders with our Daddy Daughter Dance and Mother Son Trivia Night! The end of the year is truly a special time for everyone in our school - it is a time to celebrate one another, recall the great times we have had together, and look forward to all of the opportunities the future will bring.

Speaking of those opportunities, all school families should have received a note on Thursday detailing our summer plans at St. Petronille and the necessary adjustment to the school calendar that must be made to ensure successful completion of those projects. Please note that the first day of school will be moved from August 19 to August 25. Blessing of the Backpacks and the Parish Family Picnic will be rescheduled for Sunday, August 24. Please see a copy of the updated academic calendar linked below, and please reach out with any questions.

We cannot wait for our Ribbon Ceremony, Color Run, and Fine Arts performance next week! The fun doesn't stop at St. Pets until the last minute of the last day!

Color Run on Wednesday, May 14!

Hello Families,

It's time to SHOW OUR TRUE COLORS with St. Pet's Annual Color Run!

The all school Color Run is coming to St. Pet's campus Wednesday, May 14th:

PreK & 8th will run at 2:00pm
K-8th will run at 2:30pm

To help prepare you and your student:

mark your calendar and join us to cheer on the runners.

sign up to help throw color or guard an intersection.

return the permission form by Monday, May 12th.

review pre-run checklist, dismissal info and clean-up tips.

St. Petronille Parish Celebrates 100 Years!

Join us for the Centennial Mass celebrated by Most Reverend Ronald A. Hicks on

Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Petronille Church.

Following Mass, please join us in the Parish Life Center for an evening of fellowship, cocktails, dinner, music, and dancing as we commemorate 100 years of faith and community.

Our 8th Grade Daddy Daughter Dance was a big success! What a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our 8th grade students and their Dads who helped them grow into the wonderful young ladies they are!

The 4th Grade Mothers' Day Prayer Service is always a special event! Our 4th graders expressed appreciation for their Moms through prayer, written letters, and songs! It is always a highlight to hear our students put their study of similes into action!
