Social-Emotional Support
KIBSD School Social Workers are here to help students and families as advocates, support and to connect with needed resources. There is a multitude of areas they can assist. School social workers work closely with other agencies, non-profits, and tribes to link families to the supports they need. Please don’t hesitate to reach out or let AK Teach know if you would like a social worker to call you and see how they can help.
A Note on Newsletters
Whenever possible, flyers and information will be linked to the appropriate site. So, if you see a website address in a flyer that you want to visit, go ahead and try clicking on it. More than likely, it will take you there. Also, the calendar is a picture and should be able to be downloaded and printed.
Throughout the school year we will be hosting a variety of clubs and events and we want as many interested students as possible to attend. We always appreciate having an idea of how many families to expect for any given activity, but we NEVER want anyone to miss out on an opportunity because they forgot to let us know they were coming. Even though we will make sure to plan for a few extra kiddos in regards to any supplies, materials or accommodations it really does help us to be adequately prepared if you take the time to R.S.V.P. You can click on the RSVP buttons in any newsletter or send us a message via the phone or by email or even by carrier pigeon. It is our desire to make sure that every student who participates in our activities has the best experience possible.
