Face Vocal Band Field Trip
Last week, TSD 4th graders were treated to a concert by Colorado-based rock a cappella group Face Vocal Band. This was a rare treat, as Face is often touring the country, or even the world! They have sung in Australia, various countries throughout Europe, and Russia, among many locations throughout the United States. Students enjoyed hearing some of their favorite current music hits, and also learned how to beatbox from world-renowned vocal percussionist, Mark Megibow! Special thanks to the Encounters with Music Trust Fund for making this field trip possible! If you look closely at the pic below, you'll spy BES 4th graders in the very front, along with members of Face (left to right) Stephen Ross, Mark Megibow, Forest Kelly, Anderson Daniel, and Ryan Driver.

Lemonade Day
Dear Berthoud Families:
The Berthoud Chamber of Commerce is offering our students an amazing opportunity!
Lemonade Day is a community-wide educational program that provides youth with the opportunity to learn how to start, own and operate their first business - a lemonade stand. Students will be provided with free educational materials through the support of generous local sponsors. With the help of a parent, teacher, or mentor, they are taught how to set goals, create a product, prepare a budget, seek an investor, choose a location, design a marketing plan, and provide customer service. On Lemonade Day, young entrepreneurs open for business in public locations throughout the city. They keep the money they earn and are encouraged to spend some, save some for the future, and share some by giving to a local charity of their choice.
Lemonade Day is set for May 11th, 2024. The deadline to register is April 1, 2024.
Please have a look at the document links below to help register for the event and frequently asked questions. There is also a Facebook page we encourage you to join.
