Principal Updates
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering commitment to Cherry Crest! Your generous donations have enabled us to maintain operations at a level similar to last school year, even in light of a $25,000 reduction in our district-allocated building budget. While we have made some minor adjustments, such as reducing our Copy Center usage and limiting our overall spending, we truly feel fortunate to have the strong partnership we share with our PTSA and families. Thank you for your invaluable support!
If you attended Dr. Aramaki's recent board presentation, you may have heard about the proposed spending cuts for the 2025-2026 school year. These cuts will impact Cherry Crest and all elementary schools, with the most significant change being the potential loss of an assistant principal and a second administrator on site. If you haven't yet reviewed the proposal, please take a moment to visit the links below for more information.
Our community has the opportunity to provide feedback on this proposal before March. We encourage you to share your thoughts as a valued community member and stakeholder in our district. I've included the relevant information below for your convenience.
Thank you once again for your support!

Care for our Families
The topic of immigration has been a topic creating stress and uncertainty for some families in our community. We all work hard to provide a safe and nurturing environment every day for our students and families, and we will continue to provide this through our communication and advocacy. Music Drive at Cherry Crest: February 3-14
Music has the power to bring us together. Everyone should have the chance to experience and learn music, regardless of the challenges they face as it fuels creativity, boosts self-esteem, and sparks joy in ways few other things can. This is why we believe it's significant to extend the gift of music to those who need it most. By participating in this drive, your school will provide essential resources to young people who lack access to instruments and music supplies, empowering them to explore their talents and reach their full potential.
UNESCO Promotion Video- Music For Youth.mov
Please consider donating gently used instruments and music books to our Music Collection Bin in the entryway lobby at Cherry Crest between February 3rd - February 14th. Thank you!

Inclement Weather and Potential Closure Reminders
Inclement Weather and Potential Closure Reminders
Winter weather continues in our region, which makes it a good time to revisit the district’s emergency closure schedule protocols and our emergency closure decision-making process. While some decisions are made for the whole district, conditions may vary across different communities, which may result in different decisions for some schools. We encourage families to make personal decisions based on their specific circumstances. Read the full article to learn more about:
· Receiving emergency communications
· Transportation during severe weather, including snow routes
· Changes to childcare options in the event of delays, closures and early dismissals
· Special circumstances like power outages
