STAY young adult ministry will be starting their Lenten Bible Study sessions on March 11th (Wednesday) at 8:00 p.m. The bible study will be covering many different topics within scripture to help young adults grow in their relationship and understanding of Christ. Young adults (18-39) are invited by Crossroads 4 Christ, an organization dedicated to building communities of young adult missionary disciples, to a weekend of faith, formation, and fellowship as what it means to receive the gift of His peace is explored. Throughout the retreat, there will be inspiring talks, small group discussions, and fellowship. Retreatants will gather as a community each day for worship in Mass and Eucharistic Adoration. The Youth & Young Adult Ministry & the University Apostolate Office in the Archdiocese of New York are planning a Jubilee Year pilgrimage for young adults. Pilgrims will take in Rome (with its iconic sites, fountains, and four Major Basilicas), and attend the Papal Audience with the Holy Father. Pilgrims will also walk in the footsteps of St. Padre Pio and St. Francis of Assisi. There will be time to view the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano. From Assisi, pilgrims will then make their way to Florence – recognized as the “Cradle of the Renaissance”. They will visit the marvelous Churches, buildings, and museums that make it so unique, as well as the historical relics and artistic masterpieces by the greatest masters! The pilgrimage finishes with Venice – the “City Paved in Water”, famous for its Basilica, palazzi, ancient bridges, monuments, and piazza’s! For more information, click the button below.

Deacon Mike Hayes, Director of Young Adult Ministry in the Diocese of Cleveland, shares the importance of a team approach to young adult ministry. Leaders of young adult ministries hold the keys to creating a successful program, but they need not keep the planning all to themselves:

Often, a leader of a young adult ministry program keeps all the pieces of the puzzle to themselves. The problem with this is that if that leader moves on the entire vision and inner-workings of the ministry move on with that person. This often leaves a void that takes months or even years to overcome. To avoid this pitfall, use a team approach. The leadership team should be wide and deep with members having shared responsibilities and a shared vision so that the ministry can continue even when the key initiator leaves.

St. Catherine of Siena (Mendon)

This spring the communities of Transfiguration and St. Catherine of Siena in Pittsford/Mendon will be running the Alpha series. Alpha is a place to meet new people and explore the Christian faith together. Each session includes a meal, a video, and time in conversation with a small group. The Alpha videos were filmed all around the world, and feature interviews with world-famous leaders and inspiring stories, unpacking the basics of the Christian faith in an updated and engaging way. Childcare will be provided for parents who would like to experience Alpha together. Alpha is a great place to invite a friend who is curious about faith.

Men's Weekend May 29 - June 1, 2025

Young adults are invited to a Cursillo weekend this year! Cursillo (pronounced cur-see-you) means "little course" in the fundamental teachings of Jesus; as it is lived by Christians. It is Spanish since it was founded in Spain by Eduardo Bonnin. The goal of the Cursillo Movement is to make Christ the prime influence in today’s society. The three day experience begins on Thursday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon. Cursillo is conducted by a team of priests, deacons religious, and laypersons (including young adults!). The young adult ministry from St. Benedict Parish in Bloomfield/Canandaigua has a monthly Young Adult Coffee After Mass! Coffee After Mass follows the 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. It is a great way to find community with other young adults and dive deeper into what was heard at Mass.
