Headteachers Message
Dear Families
As we approach the end of another busy half term, I am delighted to share with you some of the highlights and important updates from another busy week at Teddington.
Firstly, a huge well done to all the students who successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expedition. Good luck to the students embarking on their Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition this weekend, we wish you all the best.
Thank you to all the families who supported the House Drama performances this week. It was wonderful to see so many of you in the audience. The performances were fantastic, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of our students.
Year 11 students have now commenced their study leave and will only be returning to school for their exams. We wish them, and our Year 13 students, the very best of luck in their final few weeks of exams after the half term break. Your hard work and perseverance will undoubtedly pay off.
As we head into the half term, I hope everyone takes the opportunity to rest and recharge. School will reopen on Monday 3 June at 08:40. We look forward to welcoming students back, ready for the final stretch of the academic year.
Wishing you all a restful half term.
Kind regards

Weekly Head of Year Message
Dear Families
We have had another busy half term in the Sixth Form and were very sad to say goodbye to our Year 13 students at our Leavers’ Tea event on Friday 10 May. They have been a fantastic year group to work with and we wish them every success in their A Level exams. We look forward to seeing them all at the prom on Tuesday 25 June!
Our Year 12 students have been busy with their mock exams this half term and their results will be formally released after the break, followed by Parents’ Evening on Thursday 20 June. This will take place online and you will receive booking information shortly after the break. The results will give them a good indication of their current levels of attainment and predicted grades for their university applications. I would also like to acknowledge those students who have already sat formal exams in both Maths and PE this year.
In tutor time, Year 12 students have been exploring post-18 options and researching universities and degree apprenticeships via UNIFROG. We strongly recommend they start attending university Open Days next half term which are all listed at www.opendays.com. As part of our PSHE programme, we have been working with the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation to educate our students on the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Students have shown great maturity in discussing these important topics with their tutors.
As part of our Enrichment programme, we have had visits from our local MP, Munira Wilson, and a fascinating introduction to crypto currencies. A small group of Year 12 students have also been working with Greening Richmond Schools and have been awarded £500 to encourage nature and wildlife in our outdoor space. The vast majority of students have also had a careers Interview with Innovate, and the final interviews slots have been booked for next half term.
Applications are also open for the next Sixth Form Leadership Team, and we will be selecting 10 students after half term. We will work closely with them and actively encourage them to take a leading role in further improving our Sixth Form community.
We have an important final half term for Year 12 students and lots of events taking place. Firstly, there is a compulsory UK University and Apprenticeship Search Fair at the Emirates Stadium on Friday 21 June. We also have our team building event on the Southbank for all students on Wednesday 10 July, followed by Future Pathways Days on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 July. These days will include a number of external speakers and will provide vital information on applying for university and exploring alternative post-18 options. All students are expected to attend both days.
I am also really pleased that so many students have signed up to take part in the TEFL training on 4 or 5 July. I think this is a fantastic opportunity and will provide students with a really valuable life skill.
Thank you for all of your support this half term as I continue to stress the importance of attendance and punctuality. Please continue to support us in getting students to school every day for tutor time at 08:40.
Please enjoy half term, I look forward to an eventful end to the school year.
Kind regards
Mr P Garrett

House Drama 2024
A message from Miss Jenkinson, Subject Lead of Drama
On Tuesday night we had our annual House Drama event. All the students worked incredibly hard and did themselves proud. The Year 10's chose their play, auditioned, cast other students and held rehearsals. They also took responsibility for organising lights, sound and making props and costumes.
We had Phoenix with Mamma Mia, Ursa with Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes, Cygnus with The Little Mermaid and Delphinus with Moana.
🏆 The winners were Cygnus House with The Little Mermaid for best performance, Remy Gilbert for best actor, Freya Nicholas for best newcomer and Daisy Nicholas and Theon Niedzwiecki for best actor in a supporting role. The money raised from the evening will take the winners to the theatre! 🏆

Year 7s Shine in the Dragon's Den Project
Over the past six weeks, our Year 7 students have been busy working on an exciting project inspired by the popular TV show 'Dragon's Den'. Their task was to create a food or drink product that is not only delicious but also sustainable, helping to protect our environment.
All eight forms took part in this challenge, and the results were amazing! Each team came up with unique ideas, designed new logos using AI, and developed reward packages that showed their understanding of the market and the value of their products. We held an assembly where every form got the chance to present their projects. Some teams even made samples of their products for everyone to try, which was a big hit!
After all the fantastic presentations, four teams were chosen to present their projects to a special panel of judges. Our judges were Mr Grills, Ms Merson, Miss Steer, and Mr Hawley from Stanley Primary School, who were very impressed with the innovative ideas and the professional presentations from our students.
We are excited to announce that the winning team is 7DH with their company 'Ramberry Co'! Their product was outstanding because it combined great taste with sustainability. They used locally sourced ingredients and biodegradable packaging, which really impressed the judges. Their branding and market approach were also top-notch.
The Dragon's Den project was a great experience for our Year 7 students. They learned a lot about sustainability, creativity, and teamwork. We are very proud of all the students for their hard work and innovative ideas. Congratulations to 7DH and 'Ramberry Co' for winning the challenge!
