MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL MOORE
Welcome to May! It is hard to believe that we are moving quickly to the end of the year! We have many events coming up so please take note and we would love to see you all there!
Please join us on Thursday night, May 1st from 5:30 - 7:00 pm for our annual "CHASING OUR DREAMS" event! This Edison Annual Tradition showcases our AVID focus with students focusing on their Career and College Dreams! Students are developing projects and pennants to showcase their dreams. We will have career presenters and pizza dinner for all! New to this year, we have added our Art Show. Student artwork will be displayed throughout the building. This great event is a way to celebrate all things Edison and we encourage all friends and family to attend.
Friday, May 2nd is our school dance put on by our PTA. It is open for all students, we will begin at 2:50 pm and end promptly at 3:30 pm. Please make arrangements for your student to be picked up at that time if they are planning on attending. (no bike club - note: all clubs are done for the year after Thursday, May 1st)
Wednesday, May 7th will be our Track and Field Day with our all school BBQ lunch. Field day schedules will come out soon and the BBQ follows our regularly scheduled lunch times.
Friday, May 16th will be our last school wide assembly at 1:45 pm in the gym. All are welcome to attend.
5th grade Continuation will be on May 22nd at 9:00 am in the gym, followed by cake on the playground.
Kindergarten Continuation will be on May 23rd starting at 9:00 am.
Friday, May 23rd is our last day of school and we will be having a school wide lunch picnic and games here at Edison. Schedule to be sent soon!
As you can see, this month is going to just fly by! I will be sending a final newsletter for the year, the last week of school. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

¡Bienvenidos a mayo! ¡Es difícil creer que nos acercamos rápidamente al final del año! ¡Tenemos muchos eventos próximos, así que tomen nota y nos encantaría verlos a todos allí!

Los estudiantes están desarrollando proyectos y banderines para mostrar sus sueños. ¡Tendremos presentadores profesionales y cena de pizza para todos! Como novedad este año, hemos agregado nuestra Exposición de Arte. Las obras de arte de los estudiantes se exhibirán en todo el edificio. Este gran evento es una manera de celebrar todo lo relacionado con Edison y animamos a todos los amigos y familiares a asistir.
El viernes 2 de mayo es nuestro baile escolar organizado por nuestra PTA. Está abierto para todos los estudiantes, comenzaremos a las 2:50 pm y terminaremos puntualmente a las 3:30 pm. Por favor haga arreglos para que recojan a su estudiante a esa hora si planea asistir. (no hay club de ciclistas; nota: todos los clubes finalizarán para el año posterior al jueves 1 de mayo)
El miércoles 7 de mayo será nuestro día de atletismo con nuestro almuerzo de barbacoa para toda la escuela. Los horarios de los días de campo se publicarán pronto y la barbacoa seguirá nuestros horarios de almuerzo programados regularmente.
El viernes 16 de mayo será nuestra última asamblea escolar a la 1:45 pm en el gimnasio. Todos son bienvenidos a asistir.
La continuación de 5to grado será el 22 de mayo a las 9:00 am en el gimnasio, seguido de un pastel en el patio de recreo.
La continuación de Kindergarten será el 23 de mayo a partir de las 9:00 am.
El viernes 23 de mayo es nuestro último día de clases y tendremos un almuerzo tipo picnic y juegos para toda la escuela aquí en Edison. ¡Programa que se enviará pronto!
Como puedes ver, ¡este mes se pasará volando! Enviaré un boletín informativo final del año, la última semana de clases. ¡Háganos saber si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud!

Last PTA update of the year! We are having our yearly dance this Friday May 2nd from 2:50-3:30. Our next PTA meeting is May 15th. We will have an update on who is taking over the PTA for the next school year by that meeting. This year has flown by so fast we can’t believe that it is almost over. On to the next school year! Have a great summer!

Book Fair is Coming! 😊 May 5th - May 9th
The Book Fair will be open from 7:50 am – 3:30 pm each day. Preview Day is May 5th for classes. NO purchases until AFTER SCHOOL on Monday 5/5.
This will be a Buy ONE Get ONE FREE fair, so come in and stock up for Summer Reading!

As we enter the final month of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the growth and progress our students have made.
Social-Emotional Learning:
In May, we will focus on managing transitions. As students prepare to move to the next grade level, it’s important to discuss feelings about change. Here are a few tips to support your child:
Talk About the Future: Encourage your child to share their thoughts and feelings about moving up a grade.
Celebrate Achievements: Take time to celebrate what they have learned this year.
Stay Positive: Remind them that change can be exciting!
End-of-Year Reflections:
Encourage your child to reflect on their favorite memories from this school year. This can be a wonderful way to appreciate their growth and accomplishments. Consider creating a scrapbook or journal together!

As always, I am here to support your child’s emotional well-being. If you have any concerns or need resources, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Al entrar en el último mes del año escolar, quiero tomarme un momento para reflexionar sobre el crecimiento y el progreso que han logrado nuestros estudiantes.

Hi Families,
We are quickly approaching the end of the year! Most ELL Charger time groups are spending these last few weeks reviewing what we have learned or finishing novels. Keep an eye out for folders that we will send home in May with your child’s WIDA Access score report and resources for the summer.

GIFTED AND TALENTED NEWS
I can't believe we are winding down the year in GT. This year has been great, getting to know, work, and learn with your children! They are witty, tell the greatest stories, and have truly big hearts. I look forward to working with them next year!
The GT parent survey will go out May 1 via email, and Tier III GT students will complete the survey during Charger Time with me. In every grade level we will completing unfinished work and talking about goals and ideas for next year.
No puedo creer que estemos terminando el año en GT. ¡Este año ha sido genial, conociendo, trabajando y aprendiendo con tus hijos! Son ingeniosos, cuentan las mejores historias y tienen un corazón realmente grande. ¡Espero trabajar con ellos el próximo año!

DANCE NEWS
In Dance we are winding down the year as well. 4th and 5th graders have almost completed their Stop Motion Dance Projects, and we continue to work on country dancing in all grades. I look forward to tweaking dance for next year so that different grade levels are working on different dance styles, as well as building on what they have learned this year. I hope you find ways to dance with your children this summer!
En Danza también damos por finalizado el año. Los estudiantes de 4to y 5to grado casi han completado sus Proyectos de Danza Stop Motion y continuamos trabajando en el baile country en todos los grados. Espero modificar el baile para el próximo año para que los diferentes niveles de grado trabajen en diferentes estilos de baile, además de aprovechar lo que han aprendido este año. ¡Espero que encuentres maneras de bailar con tus hijos este verano!
