BIRCH Friday News!
February 7th
From the Principal...
Congratulations to Isla Lawson- Birch Elementary Spelling Bee winner!
One of my favorite events of the year, is the Birch Elementary Spelling Bee. As part of the National Spelling Bee, 3rd-5th-grade students at Birch participate in classroom level competitions, and then we have a school-wide Spelling Bee in the gym with everyone watching. This year, our annual Birch Elementary Spelling Bee was a huge success! Isla Lawson's impressive spelling skills earned her the top spot. Isla will proudly represent Birch at the Regional Spelling Bee this March, and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer her on!
Birch Elementary has a long and proud tradition of Spelling Bee excellence. Over the years, our students have shined on big stages, including the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., where one of our talented spellers competed just a few years ago.
We extend our congratulations to all the classroom winners for their hard work and dedication. It takes a lot of guts and vulnerability to get up in front of your peers and we are very proud of all of them! 🐝💛 A special shout out (see below) to our in-house crochet wizard, Ms. Carol, for donating bees to all our classroom champions.
Go, Birch Bees! Ms. Santee
SPELLING BEE!!
Thank you so much Ms. Carol for all the time and effort you put into creating the spelling bees for our spelling bee competition. We appreciate all that you do to support our students and school community. You went above and beyond, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for your hard work and commitment!
