Eagles' Extra
September 22, 2024
Highlights of the Week
Our volleyball teams also had their season opener this past Wednesday. The boys played Byemoor and the girls took on Wm E Hay's B team. Both teams came out on top as they showed a great level of skill, teamwork and leadership by our junior high students. It is great to have our gym buzzing with fans as we cheer on our Eagles.
I want to take the opportunity to thank our Parent Coucil for organizing weekly hot lunches on Tuesdays, and I want to say a special thanks to Dancey Reid for her leadership for this program!
Eagles' View Cross Country Run - Monday, September 23 @ Lamp
I want to thank Alison Norman for all her work in puting this event together!

Students of the Week
Weston Shepherd
During indoor recess the gym was full of grade 1-4 students who were all trying to find a space to play their different games. Weston was able to problem solve with the hockey players to create two spaces to play, one for the older students and one for the youngers students. As Weston was figuring out a solution he showed he is a positive leader, who is patient thoughtful and kind.
Jamie Weinzierl
Without any prompting, Jamie took the initiative to assist classmates with their learning activity in math class. It was truly impressive to see how he patiently helped multiple peers, using clear and effective explanations, including phrases I used to introduce the topic. This not only demonstrates his quick grasp of the material but also highlights his remarkable ability to share knowledge in a way that benefits everyone involved. This leadership makes a significant positive impact on our learning environment.
Casey Menecola
Casey is a wonderful student that tries his hardest to be a good friend. I see him inviting others to play and he is always kind to classmates. I really enjoy seeing Casey dig into a math problem, his determination to learn is inspiring. Great job, Casey!
Cheyenne Massey
Cheyenne, through quiet, always does her best work and is more than willing to help her classmates learn in tough situations. I admire her willingness to help as a peer teacher and I enjoy her guiding nature in the classroom. Well done, Cheyenne!
Jethro Finlan
Jethro has shown incredible patience and skill while teaching his classmates how to use technology. He understands how to explain without doing it for them, kindly shows them again if they make a mistake, and encourages them when they get it right. These fantastic traits have been so helpful in these first weeks of school.
