It has been a great week!

Below are a few things to put on your radar...

• Please consider donating to ABC/25! ABC/25 is a wonderful organization that benefits the students and staff in District 25. Each year Westgate staff have been been awarded grants to fund educational materials for our students. We currently have 19% of our families donating. Our goal is to at least 25% of our families supporting this organization. Click here if you would like to support ABC/25.
• Picture Day is Wednesday, September 27th. Information was sent home via backpack mail this week. Please be sure to send your child with their best wolverine smile on Wednesday!
• Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on October 12th and 13th. An email with a link to sign-up for a conference was sent on Monday evening. Please be sure to sign up for a conference!
• We look forward to seeing our Westgate families at the PTA Fall Fest this evening. Please note, this event will occur at Pioneer Park, not at Westgate.

Attention Westgate Wolverines!!! We are happy to announce a new student leadership opportunity. We are building a student-led welcoming team for students who move into the Westgate community throughout the school year. We are seeking 1st-5th graders who are looking to take on this opportunity to:

• Make cards & posters

• Lead tours

• Be lunch/recess buddy

• Create informational videos

• And more . . .

We will meet approximately once/month, during a lunch or recess period. Please fill out this Google form by Friday, September 29, 2023, if your child is interested. We will contact your child/you before our first meeting. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Bizzaro (sbizzaro@sd25.org) or Mrs. Najam (fnajam@sd25.org).

October Care Opportunity: Lemons of Love

A local charity that helps support those going through cancer treatments

We have 3 different ways to help Lemons of Love!

1. Making cheerful cards for them to include in their care packages. We will have tables set up during lunch recess for the kids to make cards. Adult volunteers needed to help please email judyckic@gmail.com if you are available to help on Tues Sept 26 from 11:45-1:15

2. Superhero sock drive- we need brand new superhero socks in either adult or kid size (NOT TODDLER) to be included in the care packages to remind them they are superheroes! Please bring to Westgate the week of September 25-29.

3. Cheering on the Pink Lemonade 5k run/walk participants on Oct 1!! Please see link for details
