Principal's Corner
We are really excited to start our 29th year at Littleton Academy. We welcome all our new families and returning families to the greatest school community in Colorado. Our administration team is back in the office full time and our teachers come back August 8th. We will welcome our students in grades 6-8 on August 13 and grades 1-5 on August 14. Our incoming kindergarten class will begin August 15, 2024 and will graduate from LA in May 2033.
We continue to finalize our class homeroom rosters and we plan on posting student homeroom placements in Infinite Campus for grades 1-8 on August 9th. Kindergarten rosters will not be available until after kindergarten students do their kindergarten readiness testing August 12. We hope to publish those homeroom rosters on the 13th. As students begin to fill our rosters, we really feel ready to go!
We did some upgrading with security of our building over the summer. We purchased radios for every classroom which will cut down on the student traffic into the secure entry way. We also had security film installed on all our first floor windows. The added benefit is some energy efficiency with this installation. This film prevents our windows from shattering in the event of an intrusion attempt. Many schools and school districts across the country and in our area are adding this addition to secure their perimeter. Finally, we replaced three external metal doors which were not functioning properly. All other exterior doors were given a full tune up and part replacement if needed. Just a few little things that make a big difference in our student safety.
Students have two weeks to finish up summer assignments, summer challenges, and get school supplies. Let’s come prepared and ready to learn something new!
