FEBRUARY HUSKIE HOWL
NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
I am thrilled to announce an exciting milestone approaching in our school journey! On Monday, February 12th, we will commemorate our 100th day of school, a momentous occasion filled with joy and achievement. To make this day even more special, we invite our students to embrace their inner centenarians by dressing up as if they're 100 years old. It's sure to be a day filled with laughter, creativity, and fond memories. We encourage you to capture these priceless moments and share them with us. Please send your photos to kdixon@isd221.net, and next month, we'll feature them in our newsletter for the entire school community to relish. Your support in nurturing your child's educational journey means the world to us, and infusing it with some fun along the way makes it even more enriching. Thank you for being part of this wonderful celebration!

NOTE FROM THE COUNSELOR
Happy Healthy Kids Tip
Teaching your child body safety rules is a critical preventative measure against child abuse. Teach them the difference between safe and unsafe touch, safe and unsafe secrets, and who are safe people they can go to for help and support.
Kindness Week
Kindness Week is February 12-16 this year. The American Psychological Association states that acts of generosity benefit not only the recipients but also the happiness and well-being of the person offering kindness.
Everyday during announcements our students are given a kind action they can perform that day. It is never anything big or elaborate, just something they can do to try to make someone's day better. During Kindness Week this year, try something to show kindness to those around you. Here are 10 random acts of kindness you could do:
1. Offer to help a neighbor with chores or errands.
2. Pay for someone's meal or coffee.
3. Leave a kind note for someone to find.
4. Volunteer at a local charity, homeless shelter, animal shelter, or other nonprofit organization.
5. Donate items to a shelter or food bank.
6. Offer to give someone a ride or help with transportation.
7. Listen and offer support to someone who needs it.
8. Compliment a stranger and make them smile.
9. Hold the door open for someone or offer assistance when their hands are full.
10. Write a positive review or recommendation for a local business or service provider.

Attendance
Transportation Changes
- If there are changes on how your children will be going home at the end of the day, those changes must be called into the office at 208-365-0877 by 2:50 pm / Fridays 1:45 pm.
- If you need to check out your child during recess, we kindly request that you wait until the recess concludes or arrive before recess. This supports the safety of all students, as our duty staff can then focus on their designated supervision areas without any distractions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Parent Portal
Sign up Today for the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. A Parent Portal Account will give you access to pay for Lunches Online, view Student Attendance, view Student Grades (4th and 5th Grades), and receive School Correspondence. Call the School Office to be signed up and you will receive your User Name and Password to get started then you can download and use the mobile app.
Parent Pick Up Procedure
When pulling up in the pick up line DO NOT exit the car, if your student needs extra help, park in the lot closest to the school. This is safest method for all students and keeps the traffic flowing and from gathering on Idaho Blvd.
We ask that parents not park in the staff parking that is located on the corner of Idaho and Mesa so students and parents are not crossing traffic and in between moving cars.
Thanks again for helping us keep our students safe!
